  • Simply marvelous!

At first I wasn't too sure about the book since it sounded similar to others I've read. After reading it, though, I was simply amazed at the way in which the author wove the story. I especially love the way the author brought in a word or phrase from other books, such as "Trelawney" from the Harry Potter series or "There and Back Again" from the Lord of the Rings series, with a completely different twist to them. It had me hooked from the very first chapter, so now I can't wait to get my hands on the next books in this series.

  • If you love Harry Potter, you'll love Septimus Heap!!

If you enjoy reading Harry Potter, Fairie Wars, or Artemis Fowl, you'll love reading Magyk. It's a great read, flows nicely, and even ties up some loose ends at the end. Here you're being introduced to a new wizarding family, the Heaps. The story catches you from the very beginning when Silas Heap finds a bundled baby out in the snow and upon arriving back home finds out his newborn son, Septimus (the seventh son of a seventh son), 'passed away' while he was out. The entire story is engaging and makes for a quick read. Loved it!!

  • An excellent book!

I love this book. The story of the Heap family. On the day of their 7th child's birth, father Silas Heap finds an infant in the forest and brings her home, only to return home to find the midwife taking his supposedly "dead" newborn from his home. Who is the child he found...what happened to the newborn Heap? A great read, for young and old alike. A very well written story by Angie Sage, pulls you in from the beginning, very hard to put down!

  • Good book, fantastic series.

I must admit, it took me several times to try and read this book and get through it. I don't know what it was about it, but it didn't reach out and grab my attention at first. On the third try, I finally settled down into it and then I really enjoyed it. I love the entire series. I've read them twice and can't wait until June 2011 when Darke comes out. It is a unique book and a unique story. A parent will love it just as much as a child.

  • Great story with excellent illustrations!

Excellent book, like new, great value!
