Uniform tone on a 2018 SG bass (short scale). Not the smallest wrap.
Uniform tone on 2018 SG bass, using bridge pickup. (I am awaiting a replacement for the stock, faulty neck pu.). Zero installation difficulties and the intonation seems stable up and down the fretboard. (Some strings will have weird intonation on various frets, particularly the lowest and then again higher up the neck.) They have a moderately-sized outer wrap. ( I have experienced varied wraps, have found D'Addario Nickel Wound to be the smallest/smoothest and gentlest when sliding fingers, but apparently lighter their core usually requires intonation adjustment.) No discomforts in the 45-65-85-105 set. Great growly tone with the SG's bridge pickup, which is a fairly heavy-toned one for its position. No binky sounds there. Long lasting and smooth to the touch.
I've used the long scale Sunbeams for years. Now that I have a couple of short scale basses, I am very happy to use these strings on them. Same great tone and feel and they last a really long time compared to other brands.
