About this product

Product Information

Teenager Alex Rogan lives and works in the trailer-park that his mother owns. His life consists of contemplating his rather bleak future, and waiting for word on his college loan application to arrive. One night all this changes forever. Alex possesses an extraordinary skill at video games, and when this skill attracts a space-travelling recruiter looking for pilots to protect the galaxy from outside forces, he suddenly finds himself on another planet in the middle of an inter-galactic war. It seems that his game-playing abilities are an invaluable military asset to the embattled "Star League of Planets."

  • Were it all began for me.

The Last Starfighter is one of the movies that inspired me to go for my dream of becoming a pilot. As a kid, when I watched this movie, I saw how a young man (Alex Rogan, Lance Guest) who came from a middle of no where town, with not much promise for his future; eventually became a hero by becoming a Starfighter/Gunstar Pilot/Gunner and helped save the Galaxy against the Evil Xur and the Ko-Dan Armada. Naturally, the story line is a little more complex than what I have described. Also, I realize that this is a Sci Fi movie, and I do not think I will ever become a Starfighter Pilot, but definitely a cool concept! However, it did give me hope and desire to pursue my dream of becoming an Airline Pilot. So, I say to you loyal movie watchers; maybe you too will watch this movie and become ...

  • A good one!

When my kids were younger, we had this movie and we all loved it! The main character is in high school, lives in a trailer park full of old people, and wants out in the worst way, but he has no money to go to college. The only light moment of his day is when he can get an old arcade game, LAST STARFIGHTER, to work and he is an ace at that. But what if the game were real? What if it was a way to find ace pilots for a real star war out there in the universe? What if Earth were at stake? What if he really is the LAST STARFIGHTER? Plenty of humor mixed in with the action. Some action takes place on Earth, some in space. Not for the very young, but probably okay for 3rd or 4th grade. If you child is afraid of monsters, be warned that there are some alien characters. I recently bought ...

  • Good old 80's movie

Seen the movie at the drive-in when it came out in 1984. One of my favorites since I was a child. Got it on VHS & DVD & BLU-RAY.

  • Excellant Decription of Character

I bought this movie for my grand kids as they had not seen it.It is an action-packed swash-buckler for all ages with plenty of techno stuff and very little violence.I would recomend for anyone.
