  • First WWII FPS requiring strategy - not run and gun

Fantastic game!! A real pleasure for lovers of WWII FPS. While Call of Duty 2 gets the adrenaline rushing like no other and has a superb video engine that performs well on most hardware, and good old Battlefield 1942 gave you a ton of vehicles and equipment to play with, Red Orchestra graphics aren't quite as good, nor the variety of activity as varied, but this is finally the first game I played where teamwork and communication actually give a serious advantage. There is definitely a lot more "strategizing" about what map path to take, what role is necessary to support the team, what tactical objectives to pursue. The part I love is that it is the first game where you can actually "hide" behind obstacles or in grass and not be seen by any dummy on the other side of the map. The maps are ...

  • Perfect if you have a older PC and Graphic card.

After owning Battlefield 2 and Battlefield 2142, I graduated to Call of Duty 4 for the PC. Well if you can Call of Duty 4 a graduation. This Game actually surprised me the graphics are not half bad. Much better then Battlefield 2 but a step behind CoD4. Where this game shines is in the weapons and the gameplay. Bolt action and iron sights are surprisingly hard to shoot with after you been using a red dot or a scope on your rifle. On top of this the game makes you reload like a simulator as you will not shoot three rounds and reload on the fly here. (the act and loading is just like they did back in the 40’s) You are not going to bum-rush into a room using these weapons. You will actually drop in your zip-clip and re-bolt your rifle, which all takes time.. so there will be a little ...

  • Red Orchestra- As Real as it Gets!

I'm not a gamer per se, but love history, especially World War II. I saw this game in action on You Tube of all places! There is so much I like about this game. The fidelety to detail, the variety of vehicles and weapons, the clarity of the presentation. If you own one WW II game...this is it! I hope that the producers will expand on this and add more battlesites in the future...the opportunity for expansion is there! I recommend this game whole-heartedly for its detail, simplicity of use, and enjoyment!

  • I bought it but didn't really own it!!

As a Marine, I was very excited to play this game and shoot the Nazi's, but, I found out you have to Register online at Steam.com because while I bought the PC Game, I didn't really own it! You can only play it through this sight, and only after jumping through many hoops of registration. What kind of crap is this? 10 out of 10 for stupidity. Steamworks/Valve, you really goofed on this one. Game Of The Year....right! Don't waste your time or money, folks, I already did that for you.

  • Red Orchestra: Ostfront 41-45

I like this product because, the game has a very big online community, with great game-play. The game runs smoothly on my very non game loving laptop. The only problem I had was to get used to the keybord, instead of a controller.
