About this product

Product Information

The Trade Federation, under the influence of Darth Sidious, have set up a blockade of the planet Naboo. Naboo is located far from the capital of Coruscant, and thus, the happenings can not be witnessed directly by the Republic. While it is known that the Trade Federation has formed a blockade, it is unknown to the Republic that they are preparing a full-scale invasion of the planet.

Players assume the role of one of the five available Jedi: Obi-Wan Kenobi, Qui-Gon Jinn, Mace Windu, Adi Gallia or Plo Koon. Obi-Wan Kenobi is the youngest of the group. He is fast and agile but still has much to learn before becoming a Jedi Knight. Qui-Gon Jinn, known for his excellent lightsaber skills, is a Jedi Master but not a member of the Jedi Council.

Mace Windu is also an expert with a lightsaber but is perhaps best known for his diplomatic skills as a senior member of the Jedi Council. Adi Gallia -- the only playable female character -- is a Corellian with quick reflexes. Hailing from the planet of Dorin, Plo Koon has incredible strength but is the slowest of the group.

Alone or side-by-side with a friend, players must fight their way through ten levels. The first level takes place on the Trade Federation Battleship where you must escape with your life. Escape from the battleship and the second level opens in the swamps of Naboo. Level Three takes place in the city of Theed, home to Queen Amidala. In Level Four, players will enter the Theed Palace where they must free the queen who is being held hostage.

Jedi Power Battles' fifth level moves the game off of Naboo and onto the planet of Tatooine. From there the game advances to Coruscant (home of the Galactic Senate) for Level Six. Level Seven takes players back to Naboo for a romp through some ruins. In Level Eight, which takes place on the streets of Theed, your Jedi will have the opportunity to pilot a STAP (Single Trooper Aerial Platform). The palace cliffs are the setting for Level Nine where you will need to rescue six Naboo pilots. Finally, the tenth level takes place in the palace's generator core.

Enemies that will be encountered throughout the game include: Battle Droids, STAPs, Destroyer Droids, Tusken Raiders, Sith Probe Droids, Trade Federation ATTs, Gungan Guards, four types of mercenaries and the Sith Lord, Darth Maul. Players will need to use their lightsabers to slash through the hordes of enemies as well as to deflect incoming laser blasts.

    Great 2 Player co-op game

For an older Star Wars game, this is great. If you have a second person to play it with, thats definitely the way to go, co-op 2 player mode really brings the game to life! The amount of famous Jedi to choose from is actually pretty impressive, and Darth Maul is even unlockable to play as. Great game

  • Short but fun

This game is fun, but the main story takes only about 5 hours to complete. There are unlockable characters and bonus levels also, but it wil be hard to want to do all of the levels over just to unlock them. It has a battle mode for 2 players and it has 22 different characters to play from too. The main game can be played with 2 players, but the bonus levels can't be unlocked when doing this. It's a good game, but it can also be frustating at times. If you're a fan of Star Wars, then get the game. The Dreamcast version is better though, as it has the battle mode and better controls. That is the version I just reviewed.

  • VERY fun game!

This is a very fun ,enjoyable and challenging game. It certainly encapsulates that era of Star Wars. What with Mace Windu have a blue lightsaber and Ki-Adi Mundi having a purple one at that time like in the Star Wars Republic comics. Each character has their particular strengths and things they are better suited for gameplay wise. My only issue is not with the game itself but My Dreamcast for some reason has trouble reading the disk and now has issues reading some of my other game disks. My copy of Soulcalibur works but most the others have issues. Again though this isn't really a problem with the game itself.

  • the force is strong with this one...

this game is like a dream come true for me. this game puts you in control of one of several characters from episode 1 and delivers non-stop action, varied gameplay (unless i just imagined a podrace and tank, i was slightly innebriated when i played this), a highly detailed control system (which one can master within the first half hour), decent graphics, but my favorite part was FINALLY being able to wield a LIGHT SABER THE WAY IT WAS MEANT TO BE WIELD..ED! you can do combos, death slash, even repel enemy fire with it! it's like the swiss army knife of the jedi! every character has their own unique power moves & weapons, and darth maul is equipped with his trademark double light saber! get this, grab a 30 rack and a bud, and kick some sith ass! or even better, play as darth maul and kick ...
