About this product

Product Information

Kitty Hawk, North Carolina became the site of a key moment in history when, in 1903, Wilbur and Orville Wright managed to get their glider craft flying in the air for 12 whole seconds. While they are credited with having made the world's first working airplane, the Wright brothers--originally two bicycle mechanics from Ohio--did not always receive such unanimous support. Taking viewers back in time to the early 20th century, THE TECHNOLOGY OF KITTY HAWK examines the technological limits, challenges, and difficulties that the pioneering Wright team had to rise above in order to make their dreams of man's flight a reality.

Received item as advertised. Brand new and sealed. Packaged to prevent damage during shipping! An interesting and heartfelt watch. I've read the Pierre Boulle book and watched the David Lean movie. As the title states, the true story of what happened on the "Death Railway" during world War II. I recommend this dvd to anyone interested in WWII history. Excellent seller!

Great program with a lot of good information. The dvd goes in depth about the brothers work, airframes, chain drives, engines and many other areas in the development of the first aircraft. I have been to Kitty Hawk and the Wright Brothers Memorial/Museum and it really fills in a lot more information. Anyone interested in avaition should visit the site and watch the dvd.

  • Documentary; a good one.

This was a very interesting documentary, and the problems they had more or less inventing this technology as they went along.
