Thereafter there followed a banker-financed terrorist warfor an equivalent number of years.In 1980 Rhodesia became Zimbabwe and experienced twenty yearsof modest progress before plunging into an abyss, from which it isunlikely to emerge for a very long time.In the 1970s Rhodesia was the second most industrialised country inAfrica, the bread basket of the central African region and possessedof one of the most highly educated and trained indigenous people inthe less developed world.
