It isnt fully enclosed. It does not have a bottom to it. The elastic corners are a joke as is the elastic band to hold it. Much thinner than the package makes it appear. I bet it won't last more than a year. And it was way too loose i had to tie mine. I have serious doubts about it being able to stay on in strong winds but i guess we will see. Pre-made window air conditioner covers (outside and inside) are a joke.
You'd be better off using some scrap wood, building a box to fit over the outside unit (slightly larger than the outside unit) and spraying foam between the box and the window unit (wrap the window unit first). This will last a lot longer, and REALLY keep drafts out - for not much more money, really.
