  • Frantic racer unlike any other Tony Hawk title...

This Tony Hawk game was, as expected, a bunch of ollies and grinds and flat out a bunch of mad skateboarding. This is certainly a different format that is typical of Tony Hawk and I like it. It is fast: You skate down hill (as title suggests) at a speedy yet manageable pace. You must be ready to turn your Wii Remote in the direction you are going while doing jumps (i.e. ollies) for points. You can also punch your opponents as well, which is not my favorite item for a family title. However, it is certainly a blast and I certainly recommend it. I'm a 40+ year old gamer and purchased it based on its simplicity of controls and use of the Wii Remote (i.e. it's not just pushing a bunch of buttons). Still playing the courses and have yet to try multi-player but I think it will be fun, too...

  • Tony Hawk's Downhill Jam 4 Nintendo Wii

Tony Hawk’s Downhill Jam is an upcoming video game based on the Tony Hawk series. The game was launched on the Nintendo Wii launch. Also available exclusively for the Nintendo DS & Game Boy Advance. As a departure from Neversoft’s Tony Hawk games, Downhill Jam emphasizes gaining speed and finishing before opponents instead of competing for high scores and completing missions. The Wii-mote is held sideways, like a NES controller, with no nunchuk attachment. Turning as well as performing aerial flips is done by tilting the controller. Button 1 is an all-purpose trick button used for grinding, flip tricks, grabs and slapping stickers to walls. Button 2 is used for crouching for speed and ollieing. So far I give it a 7 out of 10..

  • Tony Hawk Downhill is Jammin & Packed... Rock On!

This is a great Wii game that actually takes advantage of the motion sensing functionality of the Wii. In this game you control a racer with the Wii-mote in the Steering style. You can race or try to get a high score on the trick mode (like in SSX (PlayStation 2)). You can attack your opponents and if you hit jumps you can do all sorts of moves (also like SSX Tricky). In trick mode there are multipliers that increase your score (like in SSX 3..., ok so this isn't the most original game). Some people may have some issues since this game is quite unlike any other TH game, but it is actually quite similar to a particular boarding game. Let me spell it out: Tony Hawk + SSX = one of the most fun Wii titles. In the game you have the choice of several characters with slightly differing stats, as ...

  • You a Skater?

Pros: Visuals look good at 480p. Easy tutorials that get you up and downhill jamming quick. Controls are smooth and seem well controlled. They took some time to develop this game. Cons: Downhill jam, and downhill jam again, then downhill jam some more. It got old pretty quick for me. I think it will take some time to get used to controlling your character with the Wiimote. You are pretty much racing against time and other downhill jammers going pretty fast. I found that this leaves you with very little time to think about using special moves and attacks. Of course, I only played it for a few days before selling it. This is a new take on skate boarding. So, you might not take the time to fully learn and use this game, unless you are an advent fan of the Tony Hawk series.

  • Downhill Jam for the Wii

Good game, played very little I can not get controls away from my 5 year old. Easy to learn the controls, and lots of room to expand the dexterity to achieve high end stunts. One player and two player work very well, again limited time given by my young tony hawk. he has advanced very well and again the game is easily played by little skill. Good sounds but there is an annoying repeat of information background on the cast of characters.
