Another great Royal Rumble!
This review is of WWE’s Royal Rumble 2006: 1. WWE Cruiserweight Title Invitational Open: Kid Kash v Funaki v Jamie Noble v Nunzio v Paul London v Gregory Helms – Fun match to start off the show. In my opinion, these are the best matches to open a show. They are filled with action, get the fans excited, but do not overshadow what will. Not a dull moment to say the least. RATING – 8.5/10 2. Mickie James v Ashley – Trish Stratus is your referee here. It was awesome watching Mickie James at this time because she was such a great obsessive character when it came to Trish. Match itself was good, but could have been better. It did a lot in pushing forward the angle with James and Trish. RATING – 7/10 3. The ending was amazing once Tripe H was eliminated. RATING: 18/20 5. WWE Title Match: Edge v John Cena – Fans were very much into this match and it was a good one. Cena has one hell of an entrance in this match, putting his recent WresteMania one to shame. Perfect length, didn’t get boring, and had a good ending. RATING – 9/10 6. World Heavyweight Title Match: Kurt Angle v Mark Henry – In this situation, I think this match should have been switched with the Edge/Cena match. Again, it wasn’t bad, but nothing special… that is until after the match, when something pretty cool does happen. RATING – 7/10 Overall, the show was good. The set was awesome and it really had a big show feel. Most of the matches are of a better than average quality, with the only one truly lacking being the JBL/Boogeyman match. OVERALL RATING – 8/10

So glad I got this dvd!!!
This was the start of The Road to WrestleMania 22, and as such, I was glad to finally add it to my collection. From the war between Edge and John Cena for the WWE Championship to Kurt Angle's clash with Mark Henry over the World Heavyweight Title, and finally to Rey Mysterio's quest to win the Royal Rumble and become only the 3rd latino in history to become World Heavyweight Champion, this was a Royal Rumble for the ages, and I'm glad that I got it!!!This was the start of The Road to WrestleMania 22, and as such, I was glad to finally add it to my collection.
