About this product

Product Information

Konami returns to its rhythmic roots with Rock Revolution, a music game modeled after Rock Band and Guitar Hero: World Tour. Rock Revolution features four ways to make music: drums, guitar, bass, and vocals. While playing an instrument, the goal is to follow onscreen visual cues while tapping or strumming on the supported drum and guitar peripherals. Vocals involve singing into a microphone in a manner similar to the publisher's Karaoke Revolution series. The disc features 40 songs with an option to download additional content (either individual songs or song packs) online.

Artists include Judas Priest, Kiss, Quiet Riot, Metallica, Megadeth, Heart, Ratt, Queen, Rush, the Who, Foo Fighters, and more. Choose from 15 characters and follow a career or challenge others online. The game's "Studio Mode" is notable for allowing you to freely create songs and record your performance on up to eight tracks. Throughout your career, you'll be able to compete in various challenges, create custom set lists, and learn new techniques to master more complicated songs. Online users will be able to display their talents to rest of the Rock Revolution community via real-time scoreboards.

    Not that fun.

Doesn't have vocals and the way the note/ color patterns come down is hard to get used to. Timing is weird. I probably won't play it again. I like rock band and guitar hero better.

  • Rock Revolution, Not a Guitar hero clone.

In the spirit of the famouse Guitar Hero series, this game rocks on and on. There are not as many songs in this game as in the Guitar hero series, however the music is more on the newer side. There are a few tracks from the olden times, (the 80's) But if you like the newer stuff then this is your game. The Fret interface is totally different from what you are used to with Guitar hero, and I must say it is a lot harder to play., as it goes by very fast and you can forget Star power. This is a nice little clone, but not what you are used to. Welcome to a whole new venue. This game is fun to play, but not worth the new price tag like the guitar hero series. Save your $$ for the next in line Guitar hero games.

  • Good fun .

I've seen lots of bad reviews about this game but they usually come from people who have not actually played it or have not given this game any time. The concept is the same as Guitar Hero and Rockband games but it also has a studio section where you can create your own tracks. All the whining about this game is due to the 2d scrolling fret board so because it's not at an angle everyone has to moan about it.Once you get used to it it really not a problem and it actually gives you more time to see the notes because it's a full fretboard and not 3/4 and at an angle.I also heard moans about all the cover version,Well they really are not that bad,There are a few stinkers but really you don't notice when you are concentrating on the notes.Sure this is not as good as GH or Rockband franchises but ...

  • Rock Revolution? Hardly.

Being a music-based game junkie, I finally caved and bought Rock Revolution. I was dissapointed and that is saying a lot considering my expectations weren't very high to begin with. Rock Revoluion doesn't hold it's own against other band/rhythm based games. It tries weakly to make itself unique by having the note highway runs to the far left and vertical as opposed to centered and "at you", the "Challenges" are borderline bizzare (Avoid "poisoned notes"? Really?) and, the most frustrating aspect is by Konami using cover bands instead of licensing the real music by the real artists. Didn't they realize that is taking huge steps backwards and that the industry pretty much stopped doing that after Guitar Hero 2? If you are looking for a new rock game and are done with the Guitar Heroes and ...

  • Some Good Songs

Rock Revolution seems to be a knock-off of GH World Tour/Rock Band, with some likeable differences. One drawback for me is having the notes in a one-dimensional format. Some of the songs (and I will only say some) make it a good game. I just wish that more familiar song tracks would have been there, but even the other two band games are just as guilty. Don't know if there will be a 2nd version, but if there will be, at least add more choice tunes.
