    this series is too short!

    In all areas i care about(plot, dialogue/script, acting, tension, audio/video quality), this series is superb. i can't remember a more delightful viewing experience. i enjoyed it so much that when it ended i felt sad and i remarked to my spouse that this series is too short.

    Great HBO Series

    I have seen a lot of HBO series and by far this is one of my favorites. I have always been fascinated by this part of our world history and I love how HBO brought it to light. I read that the writers wanted to stay as true to actual events as possible and in my opinion they did a great job. All the actors were perfect choices for the roles they protrayed. James Pruefoy as Mark Anthony was so believable. The sets were great. Especially the Egyptian city scenes.I felt like I was watching a piece of history unfold right before my eyes. I want to catch the next flight to Rome so I can see everything up close. This is a must see series.

    A Television Classic

    I remember gobbling up the episodes from Blockbuster when it was originally released on DVD. The Blu-ray edition is absolutely stunning. This series is extremely well-written, superbly casted and the authenticity of the sets is one of the finest achievements in television history. I'm a history buff so I wish the series would have dwelt more on Caesar's military strategy and less on the social intrigue back in Rome but since the drama is so well done, it feels like quibbling. Vorenus and Pullo are one of the best dramatic "buddies" I can think of. I'm saving each episode and then going back to listen to the commentaries. Again, a remarkable achievement!

    Better than GOT

    It's very good, worth to read up on Roman history to appreciate it more. Pompey and Caesar both have connections to the Sulla Marius conflict..
