About this product

Product Information

Designed to present grown-up gamers with a well-rounded cowboy adventure, Gun tells a classic Western story of revenge and rugged individualism, with the player in the starring role. Colton White was robbed of his heritage by a lifetime of lies; now he aims to take charge of his destiny and become his own man. The game's open-ended mission structure and expansive environments allow players to explore the frontier as they choose. Missions offer a variety of gameplay styles, including stealth action, precision shooting, and horseback riding.

Players can develop Colton White to be an upstanding, classic hero, who protects the innocent and follows a code of righteousness, or a vengeful loner, who best serves the frontier community by serving himself first. The game's story progresses through a series of major missions, but many side-quests allow the hero to develop skills and earn scratch. Money and other crucial resources can be gained by collecting bounties, winning at the poker table, or by less civically upstanding means.

Gun was developed by veteran studio Neversoft, previously renowned as the creator of the Tony Hawk Pro Skater series. Key characters in Gun are voiced by a number of accomplished screen actors, including Tom Skerritt, Lance Henriksen, and Kris Kristofferson. The game's story was written by screenwriter Randall Jahnson (Sunset Strip, The Mask of Zorro, The Doors).

    It won't play!

I'm sad because I love playing Gun, but the game won't play on my Xbox 360 console. A message appears stating that my console needs to be updated. I have no idea what that means. I'm a senior!😭

  • Good old fashoined fun!

I gave Gun a 4/5 because it's a really good game, but not one of my all time favorites. It is surely worth buying at some of the great prices it is available for. I'm not a big western fan, but this game is plain and simple fun. It has a decent story with a gritty dialogue, fitting the genre. The gameplay is smooth, controls are easy to get used to, and graphics are well done. You can ride a horse, travel on foot, shoot a cannon from a ferry, use knives, tomahowks, pistols, rifles, shotguns, whiskey bombs, bow and arrows, and more. There are main and side missions to increase your stats. I would recommend this game for anyone looking for something a little out of the ordinary, that will provide some single player entertainment.

  • Wild Wild West on 360

Introduction Gun is set back in the old west. It has a standard opening, like any other game. The intro introduces some characters and background with a tutorial to get feel for the game. Its not anything special, but not anything terrible. No cons present. Game play Here is where Gun gets to shine and excel! This is the standout part of the game. Gun is fun. Gamers who have played True Crime or Grand Theft Auto will feel right at home here. It is an open world with no loading to new areas. Action is balanced, fun, and fast paced with the help of bullet time. Bullet time slows down time allowing you to pull off a number of shots not possible without it. You can restore bullet time by pulling off combos or head shots or anything else the game deems worthy. This becomes very useful ...

  • The best western yet!!!

After 'Red Dead Revolver' I wondered what would be the next great western game. "GUN" was it. The story is pretty typical spaghetti western with a "National Treasure" twist. There is not much to do in the game once you have beaten it but the ride to the end is a lot of fun. Controls are great. Cinematics not too bad. Dialogue is not so great but Thomas Jane does voice the main character. I absolutely love the horseback riding. The horses control as if you were really riding a horse. No online play really made me sad. In 'Red Dead Revolver' they at least had multiplayer but "GUN" is a solo job. Probably not much more than a rental for most people. 3.5/5

  • Pretty and Fun, But Short and Easy

Let's start with the positives: Gun is a very pretty game, with lots of great scenery and attention to detail. It is also easy to learn and a lot of fun to play. However, the game has a few problems. First, it is one of those games that you can breeze through the entire thing only dying a few times, but at the end the "boss" is extremely difficult and takes many tries to finally defeat. Second, it's extremely short - even playing all the side missions it does not provide a very long playing experience. Also, it is completely linear. You go from a to b to c without ever making a decision or having to alter your strategy. Nothing affects the storyline, so you merely hop from one movie to the next. All in all, I would suggest renting the game for $6 rather than buying it for $50. I ...
