Three more playable characters join the fray as Sega returns to the Tokyo underworld to continue the saga of reformed criminal Kazuma Kiryu in Yakuza 4. The story begins one year after the events of Yakuza 3, after two murders in Tojo Clan territory result in clashes between four powerful men over money, status, and honor. Players once again head to Kamurocho, Yakuza's fictional take on Tokyo's red-light district, but three new areas let gamers explore the city's backstreets, alleys, rooftops, sewers, and shopping arcades. The "Adventure" mode finds players taking control of Kazuma, Masayoshi Tanimuri, Shun Akiyama, and Taiga Saejima, and though all the storylines intersect, each man pursues individual goals and offers unique missions. Yakuza 4 continues the series tradition of mixing hand-to-hand combat, exploration, and mini-games, as enhanced battle mechanics and a new training system help gamers become a seasoned fighter, while activities like pachinko, fishing, table tennis, and karaoke serve to alter the action.

Unique Gameplay
The Yakuza series is GTA meets RPG. Very unique. Interesting story line and very entertaining. Many side activities to be played and places to be explored. If you are not familiar with the Yakuza story, this installment includes cutscenes from the previous Yakuza games. Highly recommend adding this to your collection!

One of the most original and greatest game series ever
One of the greatest series to grace any video game console. This one takes a different turn by letting you play three other characters other than Kazuma. It is a fresh take on this series while maintaining the original feel and play of the previous three. I have seen a few people and game sites give this games okay reviews but they are way off. This game is a one of a kind experience that should be played by anyone who loves a good story, good gameplay fighting + RPG, Its just engaging. This is quite possibly the greatest street brawler ever made. You go from just basic attacks to super moves like bashing someone head into a wall or pushing them through windows or throwing them off building tops. If you like weird japanese type games this one is also for you. The graphics at times are ... One of the greatest series to grace any video game console. Its not perfect in every way but as close as a game developer can come. I was one of those gamers who was left wanting more Shemue but Sega stopped after the 2nd installment thanks to jaded tasteless critics and gamers in the US. This game has filled that void. If you like original games this one is for you.

Very good graphic, but slow character can be frustating..
When it comes to Graphic, Yakuza 4 is VERY GOOD. No wonder, because it use playstation 3 GPU. But one thing that I don't like is that the character you control is moving in very slow speed. Enemy is a lot faster than you and this sometimes can be frustating. Storyline is good, but damn.. 25 years.. I think it would be better if it only 15 years, especially Yasuko is too young to be in thirty.

If you haven't tried the Yakuza games, start at the first one or Zero.

Great brawler game with a cool story and fun minigames.
This game is a great brawler game with a cool story and lots of variety. The fights are brutals, but it is a little bit on the easy side. If you get tired of fighting you can always relax and enjoy the night in Japan with tons of mini games like pool, golf, baseball, cabaret, etc.
