About this product

Product Information

Deemed the prelude to X-Men: The Last Stand by lead game designer Jason VandenBeghe and executive producer Scott Bandy, X-Men: The Official Game is set between the events of the second and third X-Men movies, and characters are voiced by the actors who portray them in the films. Join forces with other mutant superheroes, including Storm, Colossus, and Cyclops to defeat villains like Pyro, Magneto, and Sabretooth. Play through 31 levels as one of three main characters. As Wolverine, you can slice through enemies with adamantium claws while quickly regenerating your wounds, or you can try teleporting as Nightcrawler. If you'd rather play it cool, engage in a little combat snowboarding with Iceman by freezing just about anyone and anything while shredding around on an ice slide. Enhance your character by earning mutations to spend on one of five attributes including health, strength, and regeneration. X-Men: The Official Game is available in high definition format on the XBox 360.

  • X-MEN: Rent it - or - get it cheap here on Ebay.

Let me begin by saying that X-Men: The Official Game is the reason movie licenses receive such a bad reputation when it comes to video games. Taking place before the second and third movie “allegedly,” this game lacks the quality of the last couple of Marvel title releases. A big downside to the game that appears immediately to the gamer as they start this train wreck of a game is the opening sequences and cut scenes. Created to appear as a “talking” comic, the game misses the mark at creating the ambiance it was attempting to achieve, yet instead comes across as a weak design to remove CGI cut scenes, save money, and release the game along with the movie (and for the money). At first, the concept was unique, until I remember they used it on the original X-Men game on Sega ...

  • 3 Games In One!!!

With three different characters to choose from, X-men can feel like 3 different games all rolled into one. But those games can be hit or miss. First is Wolverine. He is a very repetitive character and can tend to make the game drag on. Nightcrawler is almost the same if it were not for his special ability. Teleporting is a lot of fun and can make for great fighting too but fist to fist is boring. Ice man is the best of the three because he surfs the sky on a sheet of ice. The story is a prequel to the movie but that is no excuse for only allowing three character when we really want them all. Graphics are not a big improvement on the 360 at all but there is a slight increase in texture detail. Maybe that's just my HD though. Controls are solid except for maybe Nightcrawler's combos but ...

  • Worst Comic Book Game Ever Made.

I encourage everyone who is curious to rent it.. Trust me, you will be glad you didn't waste your cash on buying it. This game is awful. One thing that stands out as just down right crap, is the cut scenes where you would normally have a cool exciting animated clip to watch. Instead, its a still frame shot of your character with awful voice acting and mouth doesn't even move. The game runs extreemly sluggish and awkward. It's replay value sucks. This is just a scam with a low budget trying to make profit from the hype of the films. Even the June release of Game Informer gave this a 4/10. Stick with X-Men Apocalypse II, and hope that Marvel: Ultimate Alliance (release date Winter of '06) will be better.

  • Could have been better

This game could have been alot better. It lacks in all areas. Graphics are mediocre. In game movies are'nt that great. They try to give it a comic book feel by using still images that occasionally move. The voice acting is terrible and lack enthusiasm. Gameplay: The game gets difficult at times and is very repetitive right from the beginning. You'll find yourself using the same move over and over. The characters are fun to play with especially nightcrawler and iceman. They could have added some more moves to either one of them to make it more interesting. They had some great ideas going but couldnt quite get it right. This is what greed gets you.

  • X-Men: Get It!!!!!!!!!

I bought this game because I wanted to see the graphics and get a feel for the idea behind the new movie. (I love the XBOX 360!) I love the fact that you are not confined to playing one character. You control Wolverine, Ice Man, and Nightcrawler. The hard part is learning all three separate sets of controls for these characters. I enjoy a challenge and this game provides that in plenty. The only thing that I do not care for is that when it goes into "movie" sequences it is comic book form and not actual clips from X3. This makes those sequences a little choppy but it does not deteriorate the gameplay experience. Rotts04
