Almost perfect
My senior bod struggled up the steepest hills with 34/32, so I was intrigued by the prospect of getting a 36t in there. SRAM specifically states that this cassette will NOT be operable with their own medium/long cage Force22, but I'm about to try on my Force22 Roubaix. But interestingly, this cassette works really perfectly with my Shimano Ultegra 6800 on my Diverge, once getting the chain length just right. Cross-competitor unadvertised apps are fun, eh? Four stars ONLY because of the silly inclusion of the stupidly-tall 11t final, which I quickly removed (requiring chasing a 12t/13t 1st/2nd positions duo) and popped in a 14t. The final ratios are superb, as I use the 14t a lot: 12-13-14-15-17-19-22-25-28-32-36 Note that I also found the "compact" 50/34 ring duo popular on modern bikes ... Rather than compromising hill-climbing a bit by swapping to a 46/36 cross ringset I simply swapped the 50t outer for a 46t. The 46/34 result is very sweet, closing the gap enough to never require a double-shift. Think I now have the best of both worlds. I wonder if true perfection could be obtained by deleting the 12t also, enabling insertion of the slightly-missed 16t, but I'm unable to find a 13t 1st and 14t 2nd pos cogs. Maybe just using spacer-rings? (Note that SRAM common description of the PG1170 includes blather about having a 16t, but that's only the case with the smaller range cassettes.) Enjoy!
