Great Guitar, all I expected to be and more,
It is truly a great guitar, It stays in tune for weeks and most importantly it keeps in tune during all takes when I am recording, Which is the main reason why I bought it, it is anoying to keep tunning during regording sessions, I used to spend more time in tunning the guitar than actually playing, now I concentrate on the feeling, the chords, the notes, not the tunning

I have owned both versions of the EC-1000, one with the active pickups and the other with the passive pickups (JB/59). I strongly recommend the guitar with the passive pickups. Active EMG's have a sound of their own. A guitar built like this with good passives in it really lets you hear the acoustic properties. Anyway, the guitar itself is of high standards. Cosmetically, the finish is top notch with nice inlays around the body, headstock and even the fretboard. The neck is thin and comfortable and has 24 frets. The set neck makes it easy to get up there and play leads. The guitar stays in tune with the locking tuners and is a great playing guitar. I've owned 3 of these already (only own one now). Personally, I would prefer 2 tones and 1 volume as opposed to 1 volume ... I have owned both versions of the EC-1000, one with the active pickups and the other with the passive pickups (JB/59). I have played the ESP Eclipse as well and prefer this guitar (plus the other only has 22 frets).

Without a doubt in my mind the ESP LTD EC-1000FM Amber Sunburst with Seymore Duncan JB/59's is one of the best deals going in the guitar world today. The hardware that comes on this guitar is top notch; Seymour Duncans, ESP locking tuners, Tonepros locking bridge and tail, Earvana Compensated Nut, 24 XJ frets, set neck, rosewood fingerboard, mahogany body, flame maple top, thin U neck and superb Abalone edge binding inlays all around as well as flag inlays on the fingerboard. All that combined would cost many times more than you can find them on eBay. I tried out quite a few guitars to find the right one for me and this one was it. It's about half the weight of a Gibson Les Paul and has a better finish quality on it than most new Gibson's as well and at a price so low it was actually ... So it was made in Korea but right now Korea's the building some of the finest guitars for those of us who can't afford the big brand names and want a rock solid player's guitar that looks fantastic. And the thing was setup dead on right out of the box. The action was setup a touch high but is absolutely perfect for slide guitar and with the Jumbo frets it still plays like a speed demon, this so far is the only guitar that I've come across that can pull this off without any problems whatsoever. I don't need a dedicated slide guitar with this beauty, YES!

Kicks my $1500 guitars to the curb.....
I've been playing for 25 years and owned a number of guitars in that time. I currently own a Les Paul Goth, an ESP Explorer, a custom Carvin DC127T, a Peavey HP Signature Series, and EC-1000 Deluxe. The EC-1000 is an exceptional guitar. If you didn't know the price, it would be easy to assume this was a $2000+ guitar. It's solid, gives a ton of sustain, but not so heavy as to be tiring to play. I can practically breathe on it and it frets. The action is fast and smooth. I can effortlessly play this guitar for hours, it feels that good. The craftsmanship and quality is astounding for a guitar priced this low. Of course the best part is the price. You can get these used all day long on Ebay for under $600, more or less depending on model and condition. I got mine for ... Great guitar!
I bought one of these for $740 with a hard case on ebay and just love it! This guitar is so versatile. It came with EMG 81/60 pick-ups for metal and I discovered after talking to EMG engineers that you can swap out the pick-up for any type of sound you want. They just literally can be plugged in and out. No soldering and No effort required! I purchased a couple different EMG pick-ups on ebay very cheap and I am extremely happy.I bought one of these for $740 with a hard case on ebay and just love it! This guitar is so versatile.
