If Only Modern Television Programs Were This Good . . .
I bought the "Little House" set for my wife after we "Cut the Cable" and she loves it. Back when it was a current program, I never watched due to work hours and generally not having time or inclination to watch television that much. So all I ever saw was what seemed like the same re-runs on network and cable television, over and over. With this set, I actually enjoy "Little House on the Prairie" as well and actually understand who is who much better and how each character tied in to later episodes. The "Covered Wagon" style case is really nice and has everything organized really well.I bought the "Little House" set for my wife after we "Cut the Cable" and she loves it. EXCELLENT show deserves BETTER than this SHODDY PACKAGING!!!
This review has NOTHING NEGATIVE to say about the show itself, which was a FANTASTIC piece of television history!!! I felt it only appropriate to comment on the design/packaging of this set, which is what I have based this negativity on, in hopes of alerting other potential buyers to its' EXTREMELY FLIMSY design... THIS HAS GOT TO BE THE WORST PACKAGING FOR A BOX SET I HAVE EVER SEEN!!! Now I know that they have crammed 60 discs into this housing but what a HORRENDOUS MESS it is!!! The "wagon", when opened is the design of an old school notebook/binder with thin cardboard "cards" attached that offer the season/program synopsis on them & also house 3 DVD discs (in thin cellophane-like envelopes) on them. The cards are VERY POORLY glued ... This review has NOTHING NEGATIVE to say about the show itself, which was a FANTASTIC piece of television history!!! Mom loves it!
I bought this collection for my mother. She not only read the books but watched the series when it first came out. Mom was overjoyed to receive this collection and has already watched the first couple seasons. I recommend the "Little House on the Prairie" complete 9 season set to anyone who longs for simpler times or is a fan of Laura Ingalls Wilder or Michael Landon. If you are having a bad day, stick one of these discs in and be instantly transported back to a time when not only families but whole communities were close-knit, loving and caring for each other and willing to work hard and do what it took to ensure the survival of all.I bought this collection for my mother. Highly pleased and highly recommended
I was very pleasantly surprised at how nice the picture quality was. I knew these had to be put onto dvd from old film or whatever so i was a little bit leary of poor picture quality. I do have to admit we had been watching them on youtube and tried watching them in chronological order so what a pleasure to watch them on a tv!!! The format and picture quality is excellent and we were every bit satisfied with the content of the show, even better than we had remembered!I was very pleasantly surprised at how nice the picture quality was. Every Little House fan NEEDS this item. It's so fun to just sit and watch these good old episodes whenever I want to. Especially the fact that I have run across several episodes that I remember seeing, but probably only seen once or twice.
