  • concise, clear, and exhillirating!

I love this book! From a microscopic analysis of post-it adhesive tohow airplanes fly--as well as how wine is made and an explanation of the causes of near & far-sightedness, this book is extremely informative and fyn to read. Any inquisitive mind will appreciate this book for its awesome diagrams to its wide variety of topics--as well as everything else in between. Suitable to teens and adults alike! Five stars!

  • How in the world?

Bought this for Granddaughter as she likes to see how things run; work etc. I did not read entire book just skimmed through it before giving to GD. She liked it very much. She has a few similiar to this but she says this is more informative. (shes 10) Nice for ages 10 -adult. Readers Digest has a wide selection of books that are like these, esp for kids.

  • great book at a cheaper price

Tells you about the origin of most words that you encounter everyday. An elementary and a ninety years old grandma will love reading it.
