About this product

Product Information

In this Game Boy Color update to 1989's role-playing game on the Nintendo Entertainment System, Dragon Warrior III follows the story of a young man, son of Ortega, who resumes his father's quest to defeat a powerful demon named Baramos. Unlike either of its predecessors, Dragon Warrior III supports a party of up to four characters from the following eight classes: warrior, fighter, mage, cleric, thief, dealer, jester, and sage. There are now 71 spells to cast, classified into such categories as attack, support, defense, healing, curative, reviving, travel, and more. Players will explore towers, caves, dungeons, and towns from land or by sea in this final chapter in the Legend of Loto trilogy.

Exclusive to this Game Boy Color update is the ability to collect more than 150 types of medals after defeating monsters. Players can check their status during this side-quest at any time, viewing a particular monster's artwork as well as the number of gold, silver, or bronze medals earned from a particular species. Duplicate medals can be traded with friends using a Game Link Cable. Other handheld-exclusive features include a board game styled after pachisi, in which characters can win bonus items and equipment, 100 "tiny" medals to find hidden in chests and other areas to trade for prizes, and interactions that vary based on each character's personality. The visuals have also been enhanced to a degree, with additional battle animations and revamped cut-scenes.

Seller contacted me when the item shipped, keeping me updated. Everything arrived well-packaged and early, which was a welcome surprise. Even though the item was listed as "used", it was miraculously clean and there were barely any scratches on it, if any. Strong recommend this seller if you are looking to purchase anything.

Dragon Warrior III for GameBoy Color

A classic game with great music, graphics, gameplay, and story, not only for its time but in a general sense as it still holds up pretty well. Arguably the best of the first three games, they took what they learned from Dragon Warrior I and II and put all the good parts into a more fleshed out sequel. Would recommend for anyone wanting to get into the franchise, anyone a fan of RPG’s, or anyone who likes classic games like this.

  • Dragon Warrior 3 rock!!

Dragon Warrior 3 appeared the first time on the nes system, the second release(Dragon Quest 3 remix) only release in Japan on the snes(super nintendo)with updated graphic and more.. Now Enix let us discover one of the most immense, intense and immersive Dragon Warrior(aka Drgon Quest)ever released;Dragon Warrior 3... This gameboy color is the same version that appeared on Snes but with little tweak for that this great game can be put in a gameboy color cartridge and add some new thing to compensate the little loss graphic seen on the snes... The story tell the advanture of the son of a great hero in a recluse kingdom, and at his 16 year old birthday the little boy is presentated to the king to get the approval for he can succeed to his father and embark to a long and great advanture to free ...

  • A classic RPG with great updates for a more comfortable experience than the original.

Dragon Quest III is one of the most important RPG video games out there, and the GBC version is a fantastic version. Great graphics, great gameplay, great design (mostly), and with better balancing, portability, and a decent remaster of the soundtrack, this is the ideal way to play this classic game.

  • Dragon Warrior III for GBC is the Perfect On-The-Go RPG

In all honesty, I have only played an hour or two of the game, but I've still somehow managed to be fully-immersed into the endlessly charming and compelling world of Dragon Warrior/Quest. The third entry is positively wonderful, from its incredibly personal opening, to its streamlined gameplay, and sense of general, absolute fun!

  • Awesome!!!

Dragon Warrior III is one of the classics in video Role Playing Games. It introduced so much to us that we take for granted. The multi-class system was introduced into the series and for those Dragon quest IX fans; it started here. As for this remake, they add a few things that was nice like weapons that target all enemies, but the problem with this is that it made magic users worthless. It made sense to make priests and turn them into soldiers. But in the original nes version that is what you did anyway. This game added some extra features like more mini-games which normally annoys me, but this game did it with class and flow that most remakes miss. This game is classic and should be owned by all. While the graphics are actually worse than the NES I still give this game a 98/100.
