Complex, beautiful and sophisticated Nikkor lens. Be the envy of your friends!

The PC-E (perspective correction) lenses are what Canon calls Tilt-Shift. If you don't know what a Tilt-Shift lens does, you should definitely learn more before plonking down the euros for one. I did a good deal of research before buying this very nice, hefty 24mm lens and still was unable to put its tilting and shifting properties to use. It does take great 24mm manual focus pictures, but I prefer an AF zoom for that purpose. Now it is a great conversation piece!

  • Another stunning piece of Nikkor glass.

On a D3, the Nikkor 24mm f/3.5D ED lens is beautiful. From the moment you handle it, there's no doubt that you are working with a well made lens. The tilt and shift mechanism is smooth and easy to manipulate. The lock on each eliminates creep. When centered, the lens is beautifully sharp, and holds its own as a 24mm f/3.5 prime. When tilted or shifted to the limits, some CA and vignetting enters the scene. This is nothing unexpected when working the extremes of such an unusual lens. The one caution that every user should heed is to take care when rotating the lens. The release for rotation is right next to the lens release button on the camera body. PAY ATTENTION when rotating the lens, or you will eventually end up with an expensive chunk of glass landing on your feet.

  • A wonderful lens that requires some commitment to use.

This is a lens I have desired for some time. I wanted it primarily to take one important picture, and, yes, I could have rented it, but I wanted to own it. It is an incredibly sharp prime lens, but the tilt/shift capability is amazing. It is not a point and shoot lens, and one pretty much uses a tripod with this one. I am still learning how to really use it, and I will be for some time. It is an expensive lens as well, but isn't everything that is wonderful? If you are considering this lens, watch a couple of you tube videos about it. You will be convinced. I'm very happy with my purchase.

  • Glad I bought the Nikon

The lens works perfectly, has great glass and having the functionality of electronic control in Manual and Aperture mode is well worth the money. Thrilled with the purchase.

A great lens for landscapes and architectural photography. This Nikon lens has provided tac sharp images when mounted on a Nikon D77 from the first time I used it.
