About this product

Product Information

Street Fighter comes full circle as Paul DeSouza's Street Fighter: The Movie, starring Jean Claude Van Damme, Kylie Minogue, and Raul Julia, makes its way back gamers in this collaboration between Capcom and Acclaim. This is Street Fighter like you've never seen it, though, with Mortal Kombat-esque digitized characters and full-motion video taken directly from the film. Modes of play include: "Movie Battle," "Street Battle," "Versus Battle," and "Trial Battle."<br><br>"Movie Battle" puts players in the role of Van Damme's character Guile in a mode that loosely follows the movie storyline, though the developers added twists in order to justify pitting "good" characters against one another. Players have unlimited continues if they lose a fight, but "Movie Battle" mode ends when the time limit expires. "Street Battle" is a one-player mode that pits one character against each of the other 13 fighters in single-bout matches, while "Versus Battle" is for two-player head-to-head matches, and "Trial Battle" serves as a practice mode.

Novelty title, but a decent hold over if you can't justify the cost of the Street Fighter Collection.

Not a great game, it's aged horribly but the novelty of it is great and I wanted to add it to my Saturn collection.

  • Top critical review

Not the best of the bunch.

Just to stock up on Saturn game's this one is just for kicks, literally. Good graphics and the game play is not bad. For nostalgic collection and to kick butt with J.C.V.D...

  • Pretty much Super Street Fighter II Turbo for the Saturn but with really long load times and without secret OG characters.

Super Street Figher II Turbo is considered one of the best-balanced fighting games ever released. Imagine that game with an extra character and Street Fighter III-style EX moves (but without OG characters), and what you have is Street Fighter: The Movie. This title was overlooked because of its gnarly graphics, but it plays exactly the same—frame for frame—as the cartoony quarter-muncher.

  • Motion Capture at it's most Van Damme

I am a big fan of both Street Fighter the fighting game series and the movie. This game is based loosely on the movie version of Street Fighter. I say loosely because its basically the regular game sort of reskinned with motion capture of the characters from the movie. The animation reminds me of Mortal Kombat. Most of the moves as far as far as I can tell are the same as normal versions of the game but it just feels a bit off. I think it’s the way the characters move around the screen. It may just be because they look like real people and real people can’t move like that but it is not the same experience. All the characters that were in the movie are included in the game as well as 2 that were added just for the game. The 2 that were added are also in the same motion capture ...
