    Good SA-CD SACD player

    I only use this player for SA-CDs. The sound quality is excellent through both the analog and HDMI outputs. The remote and controls are fine and hdmi will output menus to hd monitors or tv. It takes quite a while to boot and a while to recognize and display media info. Made well and I’m happy with it.

    Pioneer delivers a rock-solid 'Universal Player'. This device plays just about everything, except BluRay discs. If you have SACD discs; a stack of movies you've burned to DVD-R's; online movies & videos in a variety of formats (including divx); DTS audio discs; or traditional DVD's - this player will play them effortlessly. And you can program the system to output the results to match your system's capabilities. For example, perhaps leave DTS encoded digitally, or output the converted audio through all 6 RCA analog outputs, or maybe downmix to 2-channel stereo. You're in charge! Video output is equally versatile and stunning, including upscaling to 1080p resolutions. My only caveats include speed of operation changes, and product weight.     Awesome SACD player

    Don't care about the DVD player portion. Using it for a SACD player. Works flawlessly. Passes DSD multi channel to my receiver perfectly. Old pioneer elite is super quality.

    Top Flight DVD/CD Performance

    I have previously owned a new Pioneer Elite Dv-37 DVD player for which I paid $800.00. I believe that the far more inexpensive DV-48 surpasses it in most every parameter except CD playback. Though even in this area the DV-48 is quite admirable and outstanding considering the prices that you can pick one of these up for. Looking for a great DVD player and a very good CD player? Do yourself a favor and save some money to boot and buy one of these excellent players.
