It was a good movie, it made me laugh and that is what I am looking for a light movie. I have always liked Garner and this movie may not have been his best but it was good entertainment.

Don't waste your time.
Because our family has enjoyed so many of James Garner's shows, both TV and movies, I thought I would search out a few more of his lesser known appearances. I ordered both "Up Periscope" and "Tank." The former was well-done and exciting, the latter disappointing in almost every way. Our main objection was vulgar language and poorly handled sordid situations. The acting was decent in spite of the caricature nature of the characters and the plot interesting though somewhat stretching credibility. It was just so low class in its execution that we could not stick it out to the conclusion. After relocating his family - and his prized Sherman tank - to a small Georgia town, military man Zack (James Garner) butts heads with the local sheriff and decides to wage a little war of his own. Zack does not agree with the ways of the local police as they strong arm the military & civilian personnel that come into their town. When the sheriff goes after Zack's son (C. Thomas Howell), it 's time for Zack to roll out the Sherman tank he has brought with him-and get some payback. The director here is Marvin J. Chomsky, and he has not done very many movies, however, his work on TV includes the directing of the ROOTS series and the directing of the entire Season 3 of the WILD WILD WEST tv series. He does a very respectable job here and lovers of Action or Adventure will more than likely ...
