    Great product, a few unnecessary features, but overall very good

    The manual for the camera is fairly dense and there are plenty of random features which are quiet confusing but overall the camera is great, takes great photos and the fundamentals are easy to use.

    A good robust film SLR

    I bought this Canon AE1 35 mm film camera recently, having sold my original more than 20 years ago. It is a solidly build, robust, SLR that is easy to use. It has no auto-focus, and you focus by rotating a ring on the lens barrel. There is a rather satisfying wind-on level, rather than the electric auto-wind on some newer cameras. Metering is either shutter-priority or manual, and I have a very slight regret that it does not have aperture-priority metering too. (I would need an A1 for that). Nevertheless it is just what I wanted, as it is a film camera that just feels right in the hand. The camera that I bought had been recently serviced and had the light seals replaced, yet it was still being offered as "buy it now" at a reasonable price. It has no sign of the "Canon cough" or squeal ...

    Perfect camera for people who still want have film photography as hobby.

    This camera has a good reputation as the best FD film camera Canon ever made. I'm not an expert with film cameras but this camera makes my days easier. Exposure and aperture priorities makes photography easy, just set correct ISO value for your film and start clicking around. Manual focus is also really fun to play with, ok, most of people don't like it but I still recommend people to try it out.

    Canon AE-1

    Very good camera...so far very pleased! It is the first thing I bought from ebay and I believe it was a wonderful purchase. Canon AE-1 is ideal for newbies and excellent for those who like black and white photography. I started photo lessons this year and so far my decision to purchase the AE-1 has done me justice. One thing to be concerned is the photometer and the dust or fungus on the lens. If it is not clear from the pix provided, ask the seller. You need a good photometer and a functional lens.

    Great buy. Money well spent

    I bought this camera because i wanted to be in control of how i took my photo's. This Canon takes top quality photo's that you just can't achieve with the modern day digital camera. The results speak for themselves. Plus its a great sense of achievement when you get the prints back.
