Electro-Harmonix Flanger Hoax
Okay, here's the thing; I didn't buy this pedal to make a regular old flanger sound. And it's a good thing to as it's damn near impossible to find a regular shimmery sound over and over. If you're looking for something to destroy your sound, to manipulate it and oscillate it and change it to no end, this is the pedal you want. I was looking for something to deconstruct some sounds for two projects I'm doing. 1 is a drone / ambient project and this pedal will be aimed at creating big waves of sound for that. The other is a noise project I'm working on and this thing could be a noise dream machine. With a delay and a distortion, you will literally need nothing else to create massive walls of fluctuation and harsh noise. I'm pretty into this pedal and only rated it as good because there is a ... Confusing at First, But Rewards with Unique Sounds
There are some unique sounds in this big 'ole box. Now discontinued by EHX, the Flanger Hoax is an experimentalist's dream. I just wish I could remember all of my setttings. It's deep and difficult to understand, at first. A lot of analog modulation can be a bit noisy, and this pedal is no exception. However, it is a ton of fun and will reward you if you dig in
