Product Information

The space shooter series known as Silpheed receives a next-gen sequel (and a slight spelling change) in Project Sylpheed for Xbox 360. Players will experience a more story-driven effort this time around, with nearly an hour's worth of cinematic cut-scenes detailing the adventures of a crack pilot named Katana and his Delta Saber squadron. The mission-based action primarily involves engaging hundreds of enemy fighters, towering battleships, and floating fortresses in 3D space. Project Sylpheed features a choice of 50 customizable weapon schemes that offer both offensive and defensive capabilities, from slow motion effects to the ability to unleash multiple weapons on a single target. Katana's starfighter comes equipped with a rechargeable shield to minimize damage, and he will also be able to count on his wingmen to provide assistance. Players can issue basic commands to their wingmen and even adjust their formations to improve their odds of completing mission objectives.

    Worth looking into

    An interesting game, with the usual Japanese characters that are all underage and what not. i just ignores the story line and got right into the missions, they all pretty much ask you to do the same thing, kill everything while protecting your carrier. my favorite features include the open enviroment and the missile unloading system, feels great to lock on to 50 enemies and kill them all in one shot. the bad is all the colors on the enviroment (missile trails, fighter trails, enviroment) make it very difficult to find your targets. i found myself constantly looking for the bigger ships because the radar is completly useless. still, a fun game

    A must buy for space-opera anime fans

    The good: *If you ever wanted to experience the space battles of anime such as Robotech/Macross or Gundam, this game is as close as you can get. *The story isn't amazing but good enough to keep you playing. *If you can get this game for $10 or less I'd highly recommend picking it up. *Awesome soundtrack *Vic Mignogna! The bad: *Vic Mignogna.... *Controls are easy to learn but hard to master. There is a tutorial but in the heat of battle your mind might just blank out like I did and for get the special maneuvers. *Maybe too difficult for some. *Your fellow wing-men are useless.You do have some control over them but still are just as useful as the wing-men from the Star Fox series. The bottom-line: If you are into air/space combat and can find this game dirty cheap, I recommend it.

    Would you recommend this product to a friend? I ALREADY HAVE!!!!!!!

    This is an AWESOME game, if you are into Freelancer(pc) or in search or a futuristic space simulation, this one is it. This can lead into dog fights from hades. It's not simple, the bad reviews via ign are from the story being based on anime(which is a plus to me im an avid anime fan) I will not ruin the Story line but it is a love story, triangle and war. If you like Gundam of any type, you should at least like this game's story. I couldn't call the characters by their actual names. I kept calling them ((Gundam Seed)) Kira Yamato Athrun Zala Lacus Clyne and Cagalli Yula Athha MY ONLY GRIPE about the game is a simple gripe. Im a pc player normally so i'm used to inverted pitch, this is EASILY changed in the settings but forewarn all whom decide to play this that knows what inverted ...

    excellent space combat sim

    This is a classic, difficult space based flying sim. I'd highly recommend the flightsticks for Ace Combat 6, they utilize many functional button combinations and give a great feel. This is starwars mixed with final fantasy. Can be had for cheap now, as many lack the a pilot's coordination to play, not very easy for the uninitiated. But I lost my tail feathers long ago.....

    Very good Space RPG

    It's kind of like Final Fantasy in Space. I'm still playing through this one but it is very fun and long. I liked Lost Odyssey a bit better, but this is way better than Blue Dragon in my opinion. I love RPGs, as well as any type of game that contains puzzles. If you can pick it up for $15 or less, it's well worth it.
