The LCD was fine. Packaging great. However, it was the wrong item (the unit listed was supposed to have USB-C with power delivery - I sent in pictures). They issued a partial refund (much appreciated). I encourage buyers and sellers to expect mistakes, we all make them. The key is to find remedies quickly and easily for all. If there is no indication seller negligence, buying more product at reduced prices can also be a quick remedy.

They denied sending the wrong monitor (ok we all make mistakes). But then simply re-iterated "ask for a return" or a "replace" (which is the same thing, but now puts the risk on the buyer for repackaging - remember, they denied their fault). I appoligized, that I could not spend more time on this issue.

    Canon IS Binoculars 10x42 L WP

    Holy cow! What a difference using imaged stabilized binoculars! I'm a user of high end Canon photography equipment, so when I discovered and researched the Canon "L" binocular, I knew I was going to get a quality piece. The pair I bought on eBay showed some cosmetic wear. They are black, so you can expect a few scratches to show. Some Testors flat black model paint fixed that up easily. The 52mm threads allowed me to add additional hoods to reduce any flair. The image quality is outstanding! The IS gives you a rock solid view. They are a bit heavy, so instead of a conventional neck strap, I'm using a Sun Sniper camera shoulder sling. The binoculars have a standard threaded tripod mount that allows the use of the sling.     Canon IS L WP ( 10X42) Binocular

    I believe resolution and tylight performance of this 10X42 "L" model Canon binocular are comparable that of Zeiss, and Leica. I have made direct comparisons with 10 power models made by these makers. The Image Stabilization capability is advantageous over these major brands, especially when tiring after extended use or under windy conditions. The weight and bulk necessary to add Image Stabilization capability are the principal disadvantages. Limited battery life, especially under freezing conditions, is also a consideration. However,you will not find it obligatory to use the Image Stabilization feature full time because it is only a 10 power instrument that can be effectively hand held on a walking stick, and its additional weight alone aids in stabilization.     The clearest view from any binoculars I have ever used.

    Last weekend my wife said, "These binoculars are worth every penny you paid for them" as she was watching wildlife out the living room window. Before I bought the "L" glass Canon binoculars, I went to Mike's Camera in Boulder, CO and compared the Canon 10X30 and 15X50 non-L versions. Both had significant chromatic aberration, particularly if the image was a bit out of focus. The 15X was also awfully heavy. The 10X42s are in the middle of weight compared to the other two, but the big difference is the image quality is so much better. The other nice feature is you push the image stabilization (IS) button, and the IS stays ON. You don't have to hold the button all the time like with the 10X30 or the 15X50. Push the button a second time and the IS goes OFF, or if you forget it times out if ...

    The Best Binoculars I Have Used

    These binoculars have excellent optics and are easy to use with or without eyeglasses. They have a high quality build and the image stabilization is superb. They are not as lightweight as other 10X42 binoculars I have used, but the optics and image stabilization is well worth the extra weight.

    Fabulous instruments, but too bulky for general use

    If you would keep these at the wheel of your boat, or dedicated for use at the theater, or with your astronomy gear, they might work well. But, for us at least, they are simply too bulky to be carried with, when we are on a general walkabout. Yes, it would be wonderful to have the sterling performance when we stargaze, and they have a remarkable set of flagship features. But we usually carry our binoculars along on various tourist hikes, and these are too heavy and bulky for that. By appearances, they are about 4 times the bulk of the 10x30 model we have! We thought we would upgrade, but once we had the 10x42s in hand, we knew they had to go back. That said, the performance and quality are more than advertised; they likely are as good as it gets for hand held IS binos.
