    Reads Fast, Writes slow

    I am using this as a backup drive in my desktop PC. I am storing about 1.7 TB of different sized files on it. Reading the files are very fast with no lag time. When I copy and paste a file to the drive it takes a moment no matter the size of the file. Larger files 2 - 6 GBs take about 10 to 20 seconds sometimes. I expected faster write times for a 7200 rpm drive with 64mb of cache. It is very quiet with no hiccups so far after about 3 months of use. Using it on an Asrock H97M Pro4 motherboard with the 6.0 Gbps connection and a Quad Core i5-4590 CPU (3.30 Ghz) and 2 x 8GB DDR3 1600 memory running Win 8.1 Pro.
