      I purchased this because I had bought a new oversized Architectural mailbox and I needed something sturdy to put on my 4x4 post to mount it.       Sturdy, Easy Mailbox System

      When combined w/ a separate Archetectural brand mailbox, the two are easily bolted together, making further attachment to a 4X4 post solid and simple. This post adapter facilitates setting the box (long-side) along the curb (instead of perpendicular), which worked great for me. My street is dark, so putting the address in reflective metallic decals on the side made them light-up nicely at night as cars drive by.
