    Tekonsha p3 brake controler

    easy installation with factory wire harness about 6 to 8 min. to install good features easy to program highly recommend only neg. thing is it doesn't have a power on off button instead it has sleep mode which takes about 15 min. to shut down good news it won't drain battery

    Not for all trailers

    Pull a 36' Sundowner horse trailer 15,000 lbs loaded and replaced an older Tekonsha controller. The good it plugged into the older wiring harness with no problems. Operating and setup was easy. The bad The plastic mounting bracket if used does not mount tight against the dash it leaves a 3/4" gap so had to mount directly with brackets which does not allow removal for storage. Color changing display gimmicky as some colors are not bright enough to see. In heavy stop and go traffic brakes get grabby no matter what boost setting you use and to dial down the voltage was easier with a rotary dial then the up down arrows. It was faster rotating down the voltage if you needed to turn off brakes for backing up. The really bad. When braking on a bumpy road the brakes are very jerky, as the gyros ...

    A MUST for heavy towing

    Good: Excellent proportional braking action, easy installation (with tow package-equipped vehicles), clean display, easy to adjust, display icons that tell you what boost setting is active Bad: Not able to fine-tune the individual boost settings (fixed at B1 = 13% of max selected brake power, B2 & B3 = 25% of max) Mounting is made easy with the included bracket and freedom to install at a wide range of angles. Clean display that displays the applied braking power and an icon that corresponds with the selected "boost" setting. Adjusting the braking power according to the included instructions is a must (i.e. while driving at 25 mph with trailer attached, fully apply the manual brake lever on the controller--adjust braking power until the trailer tires no longer lock up).     Tekonsha brake controller

    Installed it and used it this weekend, easy to adjust after installation, came down a mountain with my 10,000 trailer fully loaded, and was able to adjust controller to meet my needs at a push of a button. Works great, I highly recommend it.

    Great product but not comparable with 2018-19 Toyota Tundra 5.7L

    Everything works perfect and much better than the factory controller on my 2019 5.7L Tundra EXCEPT there is no way to wire it in without setting off all kinds of warnings and alarms. That being said, it’s not the fault of the product, rather it’s the fault of Toyota. So, it still gets 5 stars. I just wish a manufacturer would market and sell the solution.
