    Genuine part. High gain version. Exactly what I needed.

    I needed this specific transistor, which is no longer in production. There are two versions of this same transistor, based on the gain (hfe). I needed the high gain (Y suffix) version. This is for the power supply board, in my wife’s Suzuki Omnichord. I probably could have found a substitute, but it wasn’t worth the trouble, if I could still get the exact part. These Omnichords have become collector’s items, and are worth a fair amount of money, which is also why I didn’t want to take a chance with a substitute. My wife is happy and making music again. If she’s happy, I’m happy. :-) I also want to add that this is a genuine NOS transistor. It’s not a cheap rebadged knock-off. I only mention this, because the internet is full of counterfeit semiconductors. Getting genuine parts is very ...
