These 22LR snap caps work great for semi autos
Bought these 22LR snap caps to check the trigger pull on our semi autos and also to let the wife practice dry firing without damaging the firing pin. They do work great for those purposes. With a revolver you could get by just using spent cases but with semi autos the slide won't always completely close on a chambered spent shell as the extractor butts up against the rim instead of capturing it. These snap caps will go in the magazine and feed like a normal 22 LR. One of the features listed on the packaging does not actually apply to their rim fire snap caps. "spring loaded mechanism cushions firing pin". That would be true on their center fire snap caps but not rim fire. These 22 LR snap caps appear to be a fairly soft aluminum which takes a firing pin depression pretty much like an ... I had just about given up on snap caps for my .22 LR pistol. Every brand I tried either were not snap caps to begin with yet advertised as such, or just the plain ordinary plastic post that won't cycle through your semi auto. When I opened the package of Carlson's I found new hope. They are very well built to last and they fit perfect. I use them in my Colt 1911.22. They cycle without a glitch and seem to be holding up just fine. Well worth the price. I highly recommend to anyone who has almost given up hope. .22 cal snap caps that do not jam like others.
I have tried 4 different brands of .22 snap caps, all jam in my Henry Frontier lever action except for the Carlson's. The Carlson snap caps cycle perfectly and absorb the firing pin impact every time.

Only RimFire Snap Cap Version One Should Use.
This Aluminum Version has all the benefits. Shaped like a real bullet, feeds great from magazine, Heavy Duty, withstands dozens of dry firings and most off all priced close to the Plastic Versions but is much better in all aspects of Performance and Quality. Will Purchase more when my needs arise.

The best 22 snap cap
I tried the A-Zooms and the brass empty golden bullet style and these cycle better than them with no issues.. Watch out for those brass reloaded hollow points that are in the market place. They are dangerous because the crimping comes apart. They will leave a bullet stuck in your barrel which is a huge safety problem when you go back to live rounds.
