About this product

Product Information

Watch the game on the big screen, in vivid color and with clear, crisp images using the Optoma HD65 DLP Projector. Show video, HDTV, Blu-ray movies or games in a home theater type of setup without the hefty price tag. The Optoma HD65 DLP Projector is powered by DLP technology, which is the standard in providing superior home theater projection image quality. With 1600 lumens, 720p high-definition resolution and a 4000:1 contrast ratio the Optoma HD65 DLP Projector can reproduce the vibrant pictures that high-definition was designed to provide. The Optoma HD65 DLP Projector offers a variety of connectivity and compatibility options and inputs such as cable and HDMI hook-ups. Designed to be filter-free, the Optoma HD65 DLP Projector offers low maintenance and an increased DLP lamp life without the problem of overheating due to clogged filters. DLP projectors are best known for brightness and crisp resolution. The 720p high-definition resolution of the Optoma is a distinct advantage for home theater set-ups. Brightness in the home theater is especially important as complete or semi-darkness is not always a possibility. The 1600 lumens offered by the Optoma HD65’s powerful lamp will ensure that video, cable TV or other media will be highly visible, even in daylight. Aspect ratio is another key factor in the capability of video projectors. Aspect ratio is the ratio of the width to the height of an image or screen, such as 1280x720. Being able to fill the screen with 720p high-definition resolution is a key benefit of the Optoma HD65 Projector. Remote control or manual operation mode are options offered by the Optoma HD65 Projector. Remote control mode provides the ability to show Blu-ray movies, or display TV through the HDMI input, from the comfort of the sofa or recliner. The HD65 is mobile, quiet, compact, lightweight, and features reduced power consumption technology. The HD65’s advanced power-conserving green technology uses less than one watt of power during standby mode. This provides energy savings compared to similar projectors. The HD65 projector has a very acceptable noise level of 29 decibels, making it a quieter projector. The Optoma Projector weighs just four pounds and measures 10 inches by 9 inches high and is 7.4 inches deep. This provides the Optoma with the ability to be carried to or stored in a variety of places. Locate the Optoma HD65 Projector in the boardroom, the classroom or the living room and display movies, show business data or project educational material. The wide range of connectivity options allow for audio-in and audio-out and numerous display choices with regard to screens, or even a white blank wall. Projection of media in 720p high definition resolution with the brightness of 1600 lumens and the advantage of 1280x720 aspect ratio, will keep any audience engaged. The manufacturer's’ manual is the ideal guide for setting up and operating the Optoma. It includes important information on the care of the lamp, lens, exterior of the projector and the projector’s engine. With its’ superior brightness, 720p high definition resolution, multiple connectivity options, powerful lamp and excellent aspect ratio, the HD65 is a leader among DLP projectors.

    Optoma HD65 One-for-One Replacement

I purchased this used Optoma HD65 projector to replace the one I had been using for over 10 years. The fan had failed in the original projector. It was a one-for-one swap and easily fit into my existing video system. It was easy to order and was delivered in a couple of days. It's working great.

  • 720p Great Buy

From the trusted Optoma, comes this excellent 720p Home Theater masterpiece. It is one of the brightest projectors in it's class, great for big images and moderate ambient light. Features aplenty; This thing is beautiful - even right out of the box with pre-configured settings. Also, it is small and light-weight to boot. My single complaint is the lack of an Economy mode; although you can achieve the equivalent effect with more than a 50% light reduction (to increase lamp life) by turning off advanced image features. I researched this true big-screen purchase for weeks with a moderate budget in mind. I wanted an HD projector to project a 200" display for a theater movie experience, as well as video games - and this projector is it! Optoma is praised for offering this little beast at such a ...

  • Optoma HD65 is the Projector For Everyone

What do I love about this product? The price was great..How can you beat a high definition projector for around $700 to $800 on ebay? Although it doesn't feature 1080p the quality is still great. I'm actually using this projector through a "HTPC". If you are not familiar with this it is a Home Theater PC; a computer with dvd, running to the projector. By having the resolution at 720p 1280x720 on my computer and then on the projector makes the image quality amazing for both DVD's and online gaming! Projectors are great because you can get a 120" movie theater for under $1,000. Another great part of the Optoma HD65 is the throw distance. Even if you have a small room, the screen size will still be huge, with the zoom (keeping the quality still). The lamp is the average 2000 hours on all ...

  • Optoma HD65 Delivers

For under $1000 this little projector pacts a huge punch. Great picture with 720p native resolution and compatible to 1080p. Noise from the projector is very limited and completely unnoticeable when watching a movie or tv. I guess you would be able to hear it in the background noise if all you were doing was looking at pictures using your laptop while connected to the projector, but why would you misuse such a beautiful piece of equipment? The one downfall of this projector is the extremely limited zoom capabilities. I find myself buying a screen to fit the projector when it should be the other way around. I should be buying whatever size screen I freakin' want and should not have to worry about whether or not it will be too big or too small in relation to the ability my projector has. ...

  • Love it!

Considering the price of this little projector, I'd have to say it's the best purchase I've ever made. Now it is by no means perfect. When upconverting standard def media it does have a grain to it. I've only run true 720P HD into it from my Roku box but the HD looks much smoother and very vibrant. There's a lot of adjustments that can be made as well, but for the most part it's perfect right out of the box. Without upconverting standard def it has a very heavy screen door effect on the picture. Not so bad that it's unbearable, but it's definitely there and noticeable without looking for it. It has a short throw so it's great for small rooms. My living room is about 16' long and the projector is around 9' from the wall it's projecting on. my picture is around 72" and looks ...
