  • Less than Freaky

I enjoy Mr. Zappa but am not a disciple. If you are then you should own this album. It's pointless, to me, and perhaps I expected something along the line of Absolutely Free, which is a very good album.

  • Great copy of a great album !!!!!

This particular CD is taken right off the studio master tape and the sound quality is the best you can get ! Some people don't care for Zappa. He is very controversial and Avant Guard. I don't care for some of his albums, but I like this one. It was his first one and originally released in 1966.

  • It was revolutionary for its time

When the only reason for your not liking this album has to do with the fact that it does not come close to a later Zappa album, perhaps you should just not write a review. Without this album, 'Absolutely Free' would not have been released. This was the first album of its kind, the kind that openly satirized popular music ('Hungry Freaks, Daddy' satirized 'I Can't Get No Satisfaction', 'Ain't Got No Heart' and 'Go Cry On Someone Else's Shoulder satirized popular sappy love songs) and also brought into play FZ's somewhat scathing social commentary. No one else was doing music like this the year it was released.
