In recent years, however, with the addition of more rules and safety regulations, the UFC has increasingly been regarded as a legitimate sporting event, on a par with boxing and professional wrestling. One of UFC's most exciting events took place on October 22, 2004, with UFC 50: THE WAR OF '04. The two title bouts featured UFC star Tito Ortiz against Patrick Coté, and Matt Hughes against Georges St. Pierre. Seven total fights took place to determine who was the ultimate fighter!
