Fun little truck with some drawbacks
So far this has been a great fun little truck. Nice finish, pretty solid. So far pretty durable but I upgraded a lot immediately. There are 2 major drawbacks to this rc and 1 minor. 1st and most importantly, part support. The regular parts are pretty easy to find. It's the hop ups which are totally necessary are where you run into the issues. A lot of the hardened steel parts are on backorder everywhere especially the the drivetrain hd parts. The diff outdrives are nowhere to be found. Also parts are pricey. The 60t idler gear is m.i.a. which is necessary if you plan on running 3s. Which leads me to issue number 2. This thing runs hot! If you plan on running 3s. So more upgrades are necessary. In my opinion a 4000kv is too high. It gets hot quickly especially on grass. So you need a ... And some type of heatsink to help dissipate all the heat. Which leads to final negative. This truck takes forever to work on. Not hard but you have to remove a lot of screws to get to what you need to get to. I haven't fixed the pinion because I only want to open it one more time so that I can put it in all at once. (Idler & pinion) it takes about an hour to get to the motor and put it back together. You may think I hate this truck but I don't. I really enjoy it but I want people to be aware of the issues since they're not mentioned. Hopefully it'll be relieved as hpi is coming back and parts should be more readily available.
