Rather than focusing on Nathan Hale, the protagonist of Resistance: Fall of Man and Resistance 2, Resistance: Retribution centers on James Grayson, a former British Marine whose story bridges the two-year gap between the two PS3 titles. After Grayson is forced to kill his own infected brother, he makes it his personal mission to destroy every remaining Chimeran conversion center. Unfortunately, he soon learns the alien-like Chimera have developed a new method of converting humans, but Grayson vows to continue his crusade by joining the European resistance.<br><br>Unlike its first-person predecessors, Retribution takes on a third-person perspective, more akin to developer Sony Bend's Syphon Filter games, and makes use of a unique targeting system designed specifically for the PSP. The 20-mission single-player campaign has players following the Chimera, and other nasty enemies such as the mysterious Cloven, through the Netherlands, Luxembourg, France, Poland, and Germany. Up to eight players can join in for local or worldwide battles in five multiplayer modes, including: "Team Deathmatch," "Capture the Flag," "Containment," and "Assimilation." Gamers who own a PS3, Resistance 2, and a second- or third-generation PSP, have the ability to use a Dual Shock 3 controller when playing Retribution, and players who connect the two games can unlock a new "Infected" mode that changes Grayson's appearance, gives him regenerative health, lets him breathe underwater, and alters the way others interact with him.

"Retribution" - much of what made Resistance FOM great
I've played all three 'Resistance' titles, and this is my second favorite, behind the orignal Resistance: Fall of Man. Here are some pluses and minuses of this great game. The Good: Interesting story and "secrets" to find. Nice selection of weapons. Some great combat moments. A nice mix of easier moments and really challenging ones. The wonderful English lady narrator is back! (Love her voice). Auto-targeting is a great asset to gameplay. Nice variety of options for online play. Great option to "link" the PSP game to the PS3's "Resistance 2" game. The Not-so-Good: The lack of a second joystick for looking up/down/left/right is really challenging at times during battle. Can be disorienting and/or make the battle harder to win than necessary. Graphics aren't that great if you use the ... Found myself inadvertently pressing the "Home" button far too often while trying to activate some of the functions, especially during some weapon option selections.

Resistance: Retribution For PSP
WOW this game is pretty sick i just got my game in been playing it only line and just doing that was really fun a lot of people online so you can get your game on! Multiplayer is very fun if you have a Mic or and PSP 3000 you can use you mic built in and talk in game and game room with the people your going to game with you can also chat in lobby not with mic but you can use the PSP texting how you would enter in a url its very fast once you get the hang of it you can add people to! Game Play is very smooth controls are better then Medal of Honor Heroes 2 cause you can make it more sensitive for turning you can have auto aim or free mode you can invert settings if you like you can change sound setting to if you want to you get a lot of options even gamma control to change the contrast ... Resistance: Retribution review
I haven't played Resistance: Fall Of Man yet. I'm a big fan of first person shooters. Retribution is in third person but, in my opinon it plays a little like your standard shooter. the controls on the PSP take a short time to adust to. When you get use to them it turns into a great game. I just started the game and in my opinon it is a buy. If you don't like other peoples review rent the game first.I haven't played Resistance: Fall Of Man yet. I'm a big fan of first person shooters. Old Timers Difficulty
Recently I got back into video games and really got drawn in by the God of War for PSP. Thinking that all games may be this exciting and easy to play, I elected to try out this heavily advertised title. I will say that I was drawn into the storyline but I have really had difficulty in learning all the controls as it seems that every single button on the PSP will be utlized to do something. It is more for the advanced player and I would not recomend it for those just getting into video games. Graphics and fast paced action are great but not when you have to think about what button to hit next.Recently I got back into video games and really got drawn in by the God of War for PSP.
