Added versatility
Adding the b-ball to a Ram double socket arm is easy. The threaded length is 2 1/4" and the thread is 1/4-20. The part is made up of 2 pieces, so you just thread it into the metal section of the b ball portion if it isn't already attached. As an added benefit, you could put some thread lock on the threads to securely attach the threaded rod to the b-ball part, so it won't come loose in the future. I have not traveled many miles over bumps with 2 phones attached in this configuration. It might hold up well, or it may not work as l intended. I added the 2d b ball so my passenger could keep their phone charging in a cradle, to prevent the charging cable from getting kinked or damaged. When phones are sitting in the center console of a Colorado pickup, they usually bounce or slide ... Adding the b-ball to a Ram double socket arm is easy.
