One of the greatest movies like ever!
Gone with the wind,Citizen Kane,wizard of Oz,and of courses 2001 a space odessy,are the greatest film of all time !There is no greater since fiction film of all time. Before computers Stanley Kubrick made a real film,that when you see it you feel that your in space!Every scene is like a new experience of its own!So realistic,so beautifully made every minute is enjoyable!A film that the whole family will love!Before there was the Avengers,Spider man homecoming,there was the Odessy a film shows what great story teller like Kubrick if you hate old movies watch 2001 a space odessy,it will change your opinion completely.A film that once you see it you'll never forget it!A film which changed all other films after.It is in a way the father of minder day special effects!Greatest special effects of ... Ransacking film library for Classics to Ruin, er, Remake; the creatively-impaired team liable for "Are We Done Yet?" has turned the vintage Cary Grant charmer, "Mr. Blandings Builds His Dream House" (1948), into a lame vehicle-for Ice Cube?! With all due respect to the charismatic rapper/actor, he's not the first, or even the hundredth name that comes to mind when finding a contemporary equivalent to the effortlessly debonair Mr. Grant. Then again, "Are We Done Yet?'s" Director Steve Carr ("Daddy Day Care") and Screenwriter Hank Nelken ("Saving Silverman") haven't so much updated "Mr. Blandings Builds His Dream House" as demolished it with this witless and completely unwarranted sequel to the dire "Are We ... Barely able to turn around without colliding in Nick's Portland condo, the Persons brood, plus slobbering dog Coco, decamps to the country, where Nick impulsively buys a huge, neo-Victorian house to accommodate his growing family (Suzanne is expecting twins). As if adjusting to life in the 'Burbs isn't challenging enough; what with pesky wildlife, wacky neighbors bearing welcome gifts of sturgeon, and the constant, manic presence of local realtor/contractor/"baby whisperer" and all-purpose nuisance Chuck Mitchell (John C. McGinley), Nick quickly discovers that his new home is a seemingly bottomless money pit. (Note: Taking Remake Pages from "The Money Pit" (Tom Hanks)). The constant strain of balancing family, home repairs, and career (Nick's launching a sports magazine) nearly sends Nick off the proverbial end, but after numerous, ineptly staged gags and sappy moments, both the house and the family's happiness are eventually restored. There's not a single whiff of freshness in "Are We Done Yet?", which goes for the very lowest common denominator in terms of laughs — and still misses that broad mark 99¾ percent of its seemingly interminable running time. A couple of the slapstick comedy sequences elicit a mild chuckle, but watching Ice Cube wrestle a rubber fish or run from a crazed, CGI-enhanced faun will more likely inspire a pained grimace, instead of a smile. It's dispiriting to see Ice Cube, (who's shown himself to be an exceptional dramatic actor in "Three Kings", "Anaconda" and "Dangerous Ground", as well as an enjoyably humorous and compassionate presence in "BarberShop"), take the role of the well-meaning, disaster-prone buffoon in "Are We Done Yet?". This film, unfortunately, reeks over needlessness and screams apologies. "Are We Done Yet?" It's more like "Wake Me When It's Over".

Are We Done Yet? is a dangerous film. Not just because it’s awful (and it is godawful), and not just because it makes you hate everyone in it (even John C. McGinley). It’s dangerous because it’s the kind of movie that makes you hate the people who like it too, it’s the kind of film that if you see it in someone’s DVD collection you won’t be able to help but judge them, and find them incredibly wanting as a human being. There were a few people laughing during my screening of Are We Done Yet?, and if I ever meet any of them in a dark alley I may just bludgeon them to death with a copy of The Lookout on DVD. I am of course, exaggerating. I’ll probably use Kiss Kiss, Bang Bang. The Lookout won’t be out on DVD for months. The film is a sequel to the 2005 movie Are We There Yet?, and this ... Except Are We Done Yet? isn’t just a sequel, it’s also a remake. They’ve plucked the actors out of Are We There Yet? and plopped them down with a script based off a 1948 Cary Grant movie called Mr. Blandings Builds His Dream House. Grant’s movie is now ruined forever. It’s like a crappy filmmaking double whammy. As if it isn’t bad enough that they’re doing a sequel to a bad movie, they had to rip off some other movie to do it. In the original movie Ice Cube starred as a boyfriend saddled with his girl’s kids on a cross country road trip. Flash forward a few months and in this one they’re now married, which means he’s stuck with his girl’s kids 24/7. This time though, the film’s not so much about them torturing him as it is about the ways Cube can torture himself. He moves the family to the country, and gets swindled into buying a lemon of a house from a realtor played by ‘Scrubs’ star John C. McGinley. Are We Done Yet? then turns into a sort of lame version of The Money Pit. A couple of things break, and Cube hires an army of contractors to rip the entire structure apart while he sits around on his hands bitching and basically doing nothing. The film is full of stock, unfunny bits which usually boil down to Ice Cube falling down, or falling off of something. Of course there’s the obligatory confrontation with an angry animal that seems to pop up in all of these movies, but even that boils down to Cube falling down. It’s just a completely unfunny, unlikable film with poorly developed characters and a shaky, half-thought out scaffolding of a script. It’s the kind of movie where people behave the way they do just because that’s what someone wrote down, not because it adds anything to the story or has any relation to reality. For instance when their power goes out and Ice Cube needs to fax an important document to his publisher, rather than getting in his car and driving to a Kinko’s, he spends a week sitting on his front porch scowling at the money this is costing him. The whole movie is structured that way, with narrative dead ends and incomprehensible behavior on the part of its characters.

Money Pit Meets Funny Farm
Ok, so this may be a little predictable. I found it to be great family entertainment with or even without the kids. It definately has some reminissence to the Tom Hanks classic Money Pit and also crosses a little into Chevy Chases comedy hit Funny Farm. If you liked those movies then you will love this. The whole cast returns from Are We There Yet in this much awaited sequal and you don't want to miss it. Buy it now or at least Definately Rent it. Thats just this guys opinion. The crazy comedic acting of the town's Jack-of-All-Trades...Real Estate Agent, Building Inspector, Contractor, Electrician, Baby Whisperer, Ex-Laker, Fire Dancer, Martial Arts Master, Paddle Board Surfer, and Fishing Guru. He does bring in the help of a few Blind Pipe Fitters and some Over-Weight Dry-Rot Specialist to finish the job. And calls Majic Johnson to the aid of the ailing sports writer while delivering the twins. Good for a few laughs, but not one of my favorites. Give this one 3 stars***Is This Movie Over Yet ?
