About this product

Product Information

Star Trek: Conquest blends turn-based strategy and real-time combat from on board starships featured in the television series, Star Trek: The Next Generation. Six playable factions include the Federation, Klingon, Romulan, Cardassian, Dominion, and Breen forces. The goal is to control the entire galaxy, so players must build structures, commission admirals, research technology, and manage fleets during a strategic phase. Fleets of up to seven vessels are deployed on a galactic map, whose size varies based on the number of opposing races.

Entering enemy territory automatically switches the game to a battle phase, which can be carried out in a real-time, action-oriented event or simulated for a more tactical feel. In addition to the custom campaign, players can jump into a skirmish mode that pits two rival fleets against one other under a number of user-defined conditions. Adjustable options include AI difficulty, fog of war, and starting credits or currency. While the two console versions of Star Trek: Conquest feature identical content, the Wii game adds motion-based controls supporting both the Wii Remote and Nunchuk.

  • Fun for about 30min.

This game has NO story mode, NO movies or INTERESTING secrets/unlockables. It DOES have dogfights between star ships. It does have some strategy and a few elements that make it somewhat entertaining for a little while. If you want story mode then buy ST: Encounters - as it has story mode and no lame boardgame type garbage play. The problem is that there is only one map, you start in the same place, and there is no story mode leaving zero motivation to complete the game. Once you complete the game you basically get a "You conquered the Universe" then it saves the game and unlocks a ship or planet for use in SKIRMISH mode- a useless mode for this game as it's really not that exciting or fun at all (imo) to battle seven star ships against some other star ships. No endings. NO cool weapons ...

  • Star Trek: Conquest conquers!

Play this game on my Play Station 3. Awesome experience visually and strategically as it is very challenging (in a good way) as you control a races economy and research. If that isn't enough important battles for control of key planets allows you to settle it tactically through a ship-ship arcade sequence or by a simulated approach where you watch the action resolved by the computer. Torpedoes, phasers, star base assaults, its all here. You can even use research to deploy super weapons like the Genesis Device, crippling system defenses as well as opponent's star bases and ships. Special unlocks include additional races for the skirmish modes: Borg, more Federation ships, planets from the movies and TV series, etc. Highly recommend this game for those fans disappointed with past ...

  • Star Trek: Conquest for PS2

I have played other Star Trek games for PS2 and they were not very good but I found Star Trek Conquest far better than the others. It took a about 5 to 10 min. to get accustom to how the controls worked but then it was no problem. I reccommend playing the game on the hard setting to make it more challenging.

  • True Trekie

Any tricky would love this strategy game. Best Star Trek purchase I've ever made. The graphics are good, it immolates the voices of the old characters perfectly. When it comes to Star Trek, this is the best.
