About this product

Product Information

Quake III Revolution is designed as a multiplayer game. You and three friends can fight it out in a multiplayer Deathmatch to determine who's the fastest, quickest, and the deadliest. There are many other options available as well -- choose from Team Deathmatch, where you and a few friends can play on the same team against computer-generated opponents, Capture the Flag, Single-Weapon Deathmatch, and Possession.

In addition to the multiplayer modes, Quake III includes the Single-Player Challenge Modes found in the PC version, such as Deathmatch, Kills Vs. Time, Possession, One Flag Capture the Flag, Elimination, and Skirmish. The game also features a wide armament, including new weapons such as the Gauntlet, Machine Gun, and Railgun, as well as original Quake weapons like the Rocket Launcher and Grenade Launcher. The game includes both the Proximity Mine Launcher and Nail Gun, both of which are exclusive to this PS2 version.

Choose from a roster of 41 warriors, from aliens to soldiers, as you combat in a variety of arenas, ranging from an eight-player deathmatch arena to one-on-one arenas. As with others in the series, the game is played entirely from a first-person perspective and supports analog control, force feedback, and up to four players with the PlayStation 2 Multitap. Each saved game takes up to 77KB on the standard PlayStation 2 Memory Card.

Fun game, could use a good soundtrack

Quake III arena, ported well to PS2. The graphics are stylish enough that they still look nice today, and the gameplay is still as fast and fun as ever. This is a solid arena shooter, great party game especially if you have a 4-way multitap for the PS2. Nothing mind-blowing here, but a good title for any PS2 library. On a sour note, good original music during the matches would help elevate this game to the next level but all you get is ambient noises. Very fun game nonetheless.

  • Good, not great.

Graphics:75/Sound:82/Controls:82/Blast Force:85/Overall:81 This game was THE biggest warning sign for Sony of any. It's precisely why they are struggling to hang with the 360. This game was surprisingly good, but was extremely limited by Sony's hardware. The graphics and sound are blashemy by FPS fanatic standards, and of course we've now seen it spill onto the PS3. Sony just doesn't do shooters-which are all the rage now, mind you-very well. This is how gaming would evolve, and the Playstation dropped the ball, time and time again. It supports more bots than the Dreamcast version, but provides much longer load times and a serious degradation in graphics by comparison. The Dual Shock controller is to blame as well. It doesn't handle very well in these games; further proof that ...

  • The search is over!

I have been searching for this game for over a year now. I have looked in various games stores, department stores, etc. I never really thought to look online! THE SEARCH IS OVER! The price was right, the game kicks ass, and I have always loved the quake series! I even bought quake II (for the playstation) and play it on my ps2. LONG LIVE QUAKE!

  • If you are tired of Quake, why not try Warhammer for PS2

If you are tired of Quake, Unreal, and other classic FPS for PS2, why not try Warhammer 40k for PS2? I have never heard of this but I enjoy the visuals effects in the youtube. It has great graphics, sci-fi theme, laser beams, neons on the walls, reminds me of like Halo with hi-tech smart weapons shooting out pyro-efx particles (instead of boring bullets), since Halo is not available for PS2 at this time. If you are looking for average FPS and more into like Red Faction, you might enjoy Warhammer on ps2.
