Blue or Gray, Civil War Secret Missions players embark on an unsung career of subterfuge and sabotage, in the role of an 1860s-era commando spy. Presented by History (previously better known as the History Channel), the title follows Activision's earlier Civil War games, continuing in the first-person shooter style of The History Channel: Civil War -- A Nation Divided. Unlike its immediate predecessor, however, Secret Missions favors surgical strikes and guerrilla operations over fast-shooter action and battlefield strategy.<br><br>Backed by the broadcasting network, History: Civil War Secret Missions is based on actual recorded events and people from the War Between the States. Players can embark on adventures as members of partisan Confederate cavalry, forward scouts for the U.S. Army, or even handpicked Secret Service operatives, encountering important Civil War figures such as Generals Robert E. Lee, Ulysses S. Grant, and T.J. "Stonewall" Jackson as they go. Missions include railway raids, supply-line strikes, and other low-profile, highly disruptive paramilitary attacks.

Typically not too picky with my game collection but sunfaded box art does bother me. The problem with my purchase is that I received sun faded box art while the picture was of a regular colourful item that did not match. I reached out to the seller but no resolution option was offered. Which is unfortunate cause I’ve bought from this seller before and it’s been typically a good experience. I think some more care could go into their photos of their products.

    History buff meets Video game nerd

    I have always been a Civil War buff since I was a little kid, so when I got my PS3 for Christmas I knew I had to get this game. For a used game a couple of years old it was still going for a decent priced used, so I assumed it had to be a pretty decent game. I have not been disappointed. I have really enjoyed this game. The history first of all is accurate so that makes it fun and educational. But the graphics are wonderful. I almost puts you into the 1860's before the U.S was so populated. Fun fighting through the trees, rivers, lakes, water falls, small towns, etc. Fun shooting game too. Absolutely love the 1 shot sniper rifle. Game I would keep and play over and over gain. If there is a fault, each level is it's separate story line, so you don't have an ongoing story line ...

    Civil War:

    I am a Civil War enthusist and loved the game. It is very easy to play, but the game was very life-like. The soldiers were dressed accordingly and weapons used represented that era's technology. The scenery was great and the audio was realistic. I think anyone would enjoy the action as well as the work they did to make it historically correct.

    Got The History--Civil War: Secret Missions (Playstation 3, 2008) It's okay, kinda have the basic graphics that you would have in Playstation 1 or, 2, not quite as advanced like alot of the games that come out for Playstation 3. Also, it doesn't allow you to save the games where you can start where you left off, you have to start from the very beginning each time. (NO DISRESPECT TO THE SELLER), I still like the game because I'm a civil war buff, so, I am please with it. To those who are really into the advanced tech of playstation 3, this game might not be for you.

    Good Shooter Game

    We are huge fans of the History Channel so this game we had to check out. My hubby enjoyed this game. The controls were a little different than what he was used to, but after a little time he had it down and was playing the game full force!

    this game is awesome....its fun to play the game and learn about our American history....all the missions seem to be the same format and could use a bit more detail but all round i would rate this game a 6 out of a 10.........great price great product.......
