Urban Strike is the third game in Electronic Arts' Strike series for the Genesis platform, and this time the war will be fought on American soil! Evil media mogul H.R. Malone plans to overthrow the U.S. Government. The Strike C.O.R.E. has learned of the plot and needs you to disable all of his military operations. <br><br>The game features over forty missions spanning ten levels in key U.S. cities, such as New York, San Francisco and Las Vegas. Three new vehicles are at your disposal, including the Mohican and Blackhawke assault choppers and Ground Assault Vehicle (GAV). For the first time in a Strike game, you can now journey on foot for certain missions (many of which are timed!) in your campaign to defeat H.R. Malone.<br><br>As in previous games in the Strike series, the emphasis is on action as you fly into well-defended combat zones. Nearly everything can be destroyed, which is important since many buildings contain extra fuel, armor and ammo to help you reach your objectives. Cinematic cut-scenes will help explain the story after each level and a map screen will help you plan out your mission in detail.

Typically not too picky with my game collection but sunfaded box art does bother me. The problem with my purchase is that I received sun faded box art while the picture was of a regular colourful item that did not match. I reached out to the seller but no resolution option was offered. Which is unfortunate cause I’ve bought from this seller before and it’s been typically a good experience. I think some more care could go into their photos of their products.

great classic game
Urban Strike takes place in 2001 and centers around the antagonist H. R. Malone, a millionaire media mogul, ex-presidential candidate, and fanatic cult leader who promotes a moralistic agenda that will expunge corruption from America and promises that his personal security force will tackle crime. Despite being considered dangerous, Malone's charisma has won him many American followers. As the plot begins, one of Malone's men is revealed to be "Agent Ego" (played by co-Designer, Tony Barnes), a spy for the fictional "Strike C.O.R.E." organization and a former co-pilot from the events of Jungle Strike. Ego reports to his superiors that Malone is planning construction of a superweapon with which to destabilize the U.S. government, and that valuable components are being collected in Hawaii. ... Urban Strike takes place in 2001 and centers around the antagonist H. R. The first mission takes place in Hawaii, where the player character intercepts Malone's attempted theft of giant mirrors and sees to the rescue of a plastic surgeon being targeted by assassins. After the mission's completion, the plastic surgeon reveals that he had operated on a horribly deformed burn victim in Washington DC many years ago, who later turned out to be Malone. The plastic surgeon says he was marked for death because he had recently deduced that the man he actually operated on was Carlos Ortega, who was one of the two bosses in (and was presumed killed at the end of) Jungle Strike. After further missions in Mexico and San Francisco, Malone finishes the superweapon and fires it at New York City, causing mass destruction and chaos. As the player flies out to control the damage and rescue civilians, Malone fires the weapon twice more, allowing Strike C.O.R.E. to track its location: a facility located near Las Vegas. After infiltrating the facility and capturing Malone, the madman attempts to kill the player by detonating a time-bomb strapped to his chest, but the player drops Malone onto his own superweapon as it detonates, destroying them both at once.

Nice retro shooter
Since I collect old video games and consoles, I consider this one a must have game for Genesis/Mega Drive. The chopter/strikes series from eletronic arts, are not often find in best games guides. But I like very much because I consider the old shooters very fun and an alternative of casual games nowadays. Some genres of old games are not fun anymore, if you compare to modern games. But the shooters are very dinamic, you just have to react, not much strategic thinking. You don´t have to spend much time playing to make sense. If I had to spend more than an hour in a game I prefer a modern one. So this game is one of the best shooters of the genesis generation (16 bit). It´s kind of original for that time, the view is diferent, not the usual scrolling screen, you choose your direction and ... One of the best Strike games for the Sega Genesis, runs very well for a 16 bit game with very good graphics.

Urban Strike is still a compelling game to play, even today.
When this game came out I thought it was so enjoyable. And I still do. Easy to play, good graphics. I think Electronic Arts made many good games. It may be old but still a great classic.
