Great set of tuners to replace the stock tuners on my American Special Precision
I bought these as a drop in replacement for my American Special Precision, and they were pretty much that. The tuning pegs and back plate were a perfect fit, however the ferrules/bushings were not quite the right size (this is apparently an issue with some Fender basses, but not all). However, I contacted Hipshot directly and they were able to help me out with some bushings that were the correct size. With the new bushings everything is working perfectly and they are definitely an improvement on the stock tuners... a much smoother action and they stay in tune really well.I bought these as a drop in replacement for my American Special Precision, and they were pretty much that. NOT A DIRECT REPLACEMENT FOR SQUIRES
I had read that these were a drop in on a Squire bass. They are not. These will require filling of holes and drilling. That's what I get for reading reviews! They are nice tuners however.
