The best Star Trek Ever!
Many a fan thought that when the 1st Star Trek movie came out that Hollywood would never make a Star Trek film to rival the original series. Then came "The Wrath of Khan!" The formula was simple; resurrect one of the series' most popular episodes & update the story. It was a formula that proved to work, reward old fans & bring in a ton of new fans! The story finds an aging now admiral James T.Kirk celebrating another unwanted birthday as he assists in training new starship crews. Kirk is bitter & feeling his age as well as feeling a bit sorry for himself, a fact that his friends pick up on. Meanwhile, another starship searches for a planet to test a new technology on that creates life from lifelessness. It is called Genesis. The captain of the starship, the Reliant & his 1st mate former ... The big problem with Genesis is that in creating new life, it destroys all previous life, making it a formidable weapon as well as a useful tool. While on a training voyage, Kirk is lured to the Genesis lab & on the way, meets up with Reliant. Kirk is tricked & Khan opens fire. Kirk still has a few tricks up his sleeve & Enterprise escapes, but is badly damaged. What follows is a battle of whits & strength between Kirk & Khan. There can be only one victor! After the highly unpopular 1st Star Trek movie, Wrath of Khan was a huge success giving fans exactly what they wanted! There is plenty of action as well as many opportunities for the central characters to show off the quirks that made them favorites! All the regulars are here from William Shatner's Kirk, to Leonard Nimoy's Spock, Deforrest Kelly's McCoy, Walter Koenig's Checkov, Nichelle Nichols' Uhura, George Takai's Sulu & James Doohan's Scotty! Ricardo Montebaun returns as Khan & fans will get a real kick out of a young & skinny Khirstie Alley! This 2nd film offers plenty of action & thrills as well as a few surprises & plot twists. Everything is pretty well explained so you don't really need to see the original series episode to truly appreciate & understand what is going on. I am not kidding when I say this is the best Star Trek ever!

WRATH OF KHAN has it all -- creatures, great effects, engaging characters, adventure, excitement, humor, quotable lines -- for my money, it's still the best of all the STAR TREK movies. If you haven't seen it, why not?
