      Set up issue - wouldn't work with USB cable - however works perfectly with wireless connection

      I initially did everything: downloaded the Brother complete utilities package, installed, kept getting either of two error messages: either "printer error" or USB not recognized. If this happens to you - don't give up on this printer. You simply need to go to MENU, then follow the steps for connecting wirelessly to your network. You need to know your precise network name and password (case sensitive). Having done this, I am now very happy with this printer. I can print from my desktop, and, via my network, from my laptop and from my smartphone. Brother tech support was excellent.

      Good printer but not reliable with faxing or scanning functions.

      I was optimistic about this purchase since I have had pretty good experience with Brother printers, and hoped this would work well as a pre-owned less expensive purchase. It was billed as "lightly used" and fully tested. The printing functions are solid, with very good print quality. and a long time between ink cartridge changes. The major downfall of this printer is the unreliable feeding mechanism which is not currently allowing me to fax or scan documents. I am not sure if this is easily fixable but I would assume it is not. Also the display light has somehow lost brightness and is barely legible. Final criticism would include the fact that this is a bulky, not very attractive machine which I would rather not look at every day in my office. The ink-jet printers seem to be much ...

      II am very happy with it and I bought a second one for my home office

      Excellent multifunction machine, print quality is excellent. easy to set up as network printer. scanning features also good. The duplex printing feature is easy to use and saves paper. Small footprint and excellent price.

      Great printer

      This printer is a replacement after wearing my first one out over years. All the Brother's models like this printer that I have used have been good. I have used them for home, school and work at different locations. Reliable, quick and easy to take care of if you read you manual.
