Trending toward a more organic form of gameplay, FIFA Soccer 07 focuses on realistic athletic movement by altering the way players receive, shoot, and pass the ball, with such options as basic shot mechanics and a "skill shot" button for attempting a bend or backspin. Computer-controlled players are programmed to make decisions on the fly, including formation changes. You can manage an existing team or create your own. Mold it into a million-dollar franchise by overseeing the budget, player development, wages, and league standing in "Manager" mode. As a manager, you need to keep an eye on such elements as team chemistry, job security, and fan support. You can recruit young players directly from your own academy and acquire more experienced players from other teams, and then mix and match the two to give the greenhorns a chance to improve under the watchful eye of a seasoned pro. Internet play features room for eight players and an added Interactive League competition that is intended to add more to the online community by exploiting rivalries and competitive spirit between two teams. The league is based on real soccer teams that include English Premiership, Bundesliga, France's LFP, and the Mexican First Division. Choose a team to represent, wait until the real-life team is playing another actual squad featured in the Interactive League, and then play against online supporters of the opposing team. EA will keep track of the winners and the leading team at the end of the week is declared the winner. Normal online games in the FIFA Lounge include a handicap adjustment so expert gamers do not discourage newcomers to the FIFA soccer series. FIFA Soccer 07 features a soundtrack with artists from around the world including Blasted Mechanism, Boy Kill Boy, Carlos Jean, Elefant, Keane, Malibu Stacy, Mellowdrone, and Muse, among others.

Decent game, great deluvery
As far as I know this is the 3rd Fifa game that was released on the Xbox 360, but its the first that change the overall game engine that doesn't rely on the OG Xbox style a play. Because of this the game feels a bit different, but the challenge of mastering the controls are one to get a hang of with time. The visuals on the other hand resembles something like that one clip from Fifa 2000 CGI intro that we never have, and that's the quality you get here. Some of the faces look a bit off but the whole quality is definetly better than most faces in Fifa road to world cup 2006. The time delivery was spot on, and the package is what I expected. Not only because the Xbox 360 version shipped to stores almost a month after other versions, but also because FIFA 07 is purportedly the first soccer game that EA Sports has developed from the ground up for Microsoft's console. The good news is that FIFA 07 is undoubtedly the best Xbox 360 game in the series to date. The bad news is that, in some ways, it's still inferior to its PlayStation 2 and Xbox counterparts. The emphasis in FIFA 07 is on passing rather than beating opponents with skill moves and tricks. After loading FIFA 07 for the first time, you'll be prompted to select your favorite team from the 117 clubs and 37 international sides in the game. Then, if you wish, ... Then, if you wish, you can jump straight into a match against one of your chosen team's rivals or another player simply by clicking on the kick-off option. Other gameplay options--which we'll talk about in more detail shortly--include online play, manager mode, challenge mode, and the FIFA lounge. The lack of any customizable league or tournament options is a little disappointing, but the FIFA lounge mode is such a great way to play with friends that they'd likely be redundant anyway. Regardless of which mode you opt for, you'll find that FIFA 07 plays quite differently from recent games in the series, including those that bear the same title on other platforms. Unfortunately, not all of the new features and changes have been made for the better. There's certainly no question, however, that EA Canada's latest offering plays an enjoyable game of soccer. As was the case in other versions of FIFA 07, one of the first things you'll notice when playing the Xbox 360 game is that the players move more convincingly than those in previous games. The excellent player animation can take some of the credit for that, but what really affects the gameplay is the fact that players now accelerate and decelerate realistically. When players are running with the ball at full speed, it's now much more difficult for them to turn sharply without losing possession. By the same token, defending players charging in for tackles will have a harder time tracking opponents who are doing anything other than simply running in a straight line. The upshot of the more realistic player movement is a greater emphasis on passing the ball. And combined with FIFA 07's very limited arsenal of skill moves, this certainly isn't a bad thing. Retaining possession of the ball against skilled opposition can be quite challenging because making tackles in FIFA 07 isn't very difficult and the CPU-controlled players on your team don't always seem too concerned about making intelligent off-the-ball moves. It's very satisfying to manually trigger another player's surging forward run then pick him out with a perfectly-placed through pass. FIFA 07, however, walks a fine line between giving you plenty of opportunities to do that and just surrounding you with teammates who do very little unless you tell them what to do. However, the most frustrating thing about the guys on your team is the way that they refuse to move toward a ball that's been passed to them. Regardless of whether or not an opposing player is well placed for an interception, they prefer to stand there and wait for the ball to reach them. This problem isn't unique to FIFA 07 by any means.

I have loved the Fifa series for many years and was actually the first of many games I purchased for the Xbox 360. This game, however fails to follow in the footsteps of it's predecessors. The gameplay while the graphics are mind boggling handles terribly, I have never been so frustrated as I am with this game. It might be the xbox as all sports games feel a bit funny after making the transition from Ps2. The main frustration is not with your opponents AI but your own team if you are not controlling your player you get blown buy, plus the analog stick moves are non-existent because you as a human controlled player can never out dribble the defender. The game is lacking so many teams and leagues it is almost laughable, for example Chelsea made it but not the rest of its league, Mexican ... The sher luck about whether or not you can steal the ball from defenders makes CPU breakaways commonplace and Xbox live matches awful to play. I loved 06 bought it probably 3 times because I played it so much the disc kept breaking but 07 makes me cry what has ea done to my futbol! It is not worth purchasing the game and with no world cup mode due to ea splitting the two yet again this game seems so unfinished you want to throw it at a wall. I might have to but a PS3 and wait another year maybe by 2009 all the bugs will be worked out and the game I remember will be back.

Fifa 07 has great graphics, unfortunately the one I bought from here was damaged and was able to play it about a month. The players have great movility the stadiums are great they have lots of detail. The only thing I hated about the game was the fact that they only have 5 leagues, they took some the holland, mls, the rest of the world teams, etc etc they only offer the Mexican league, the Spanish, Italian, French, and the English league. The champions league is not the same without these teams, importan players got left out. so in my opinion probably 40 percent of the game was gone without these leagues even the 2nd division is not longer on the game.Fifa 07 has great graphics, unfortunately the one I bought from here was damaged and was able to play it about a month.
