  • Loyalty Old-School Style!

I've never been a big fan of Frank Sinatra and thought of the Rat Pack as a bit entitled. After seeing this HBO movie I still feel the same way, but have been enabled to see the whole picture of Frank and his friends in the Spring 1960- Spring of 1961. Arrogant? Yes. Womanizer? absolutely. Teller of ethic jokes and no ones idea of a Civil Right icon, Sinatra attends the wedding of his friend Sammy Davis Jr to Swedish-born actress May Britt at a time when he could have easily distanced himself. This loyalty to his friends has a dark side, too when this loyalty keeps him from severing his ties to the mob, even when Dean Martin warns him to do so. If you like both your heroes and villains complicated, The Rat Pack is a great character study on loyalty to one's friends, and the light ...

  • Rat Pack

It's mainly about getting President Kennedy elected. I was kind of disappointed in the fact it wasn't more about their lives as a group. Still a good movie though

  • Could of been better?

Movie was kind of boring. Great performance from all. The story didn't real get into the Rat Pack music and centered more around Sinatra's politics.

  • Capturing the essence

Ray Liotta did a "so so" job portraying Frank Sinatra. I could not get accustomed to Liotta being Sinatra in the film until the end. I kept seeing Liotta. Don Cheadle(as Sammy Davis Jr.) and Joe Montagna(as Dean Martin) might have done a better job than Ray but you had to keep on watching the movie to know what was going on. If you know stories of the Rat Pack you can follow along the plot. It did capture the disappointment of Frank when he was descriminated by the Kennedys after they used him and his influence. This film may be added to any Rat Pack lover's collection, but is not a family film nor it is suitable for children. It contains harsh language including profanity and explicit sexual scenes.
