  • The best Ghostbusters fot the eight bit console.

After playing all of the major versions of this game for the eight bit console, I find that the Sega Master System does the best job. Grant it, the game itself is not an excellent game, but a good game. You start the game with some money to buy ghostbuster items. You have to buy a car and there is four to pick from. There are various weapons and each car carries a certain number of weapons. The best thing to do is play the game and right the down the password if you have more money then you started with at the beginning. The next time you play, I'll start with more money to buy better things. When the game starts, you move around the city. You are the ghostbuster symbol. The more you move, longer it will take you to get to the site were the ghosts are. You know there is a ghosts ...

  • The first video game I ever played

To be clear, most of my attraction to this game is the fact that it is one of the first I ever remember playing as kid in the 80s, but even looking back now there's a lot to like. While the Ghostbusters franchise did not have its best showing during the 8-bit era, this game is easily the most superior. From graphical, sound and game play stand points, it a far better game than its NES counterpart (which is something of a rarity in itself.) The game play, while a bit odd, is original and the game makes enough references to the film to be faithful. While the Genesis Ghostbusters game is likely the best old school title based on the franchise, this is the first runner-up as far as I'm concerned.

  • Great game more than 20 years later

I grew up during the video game revival that started in 1985/1986 when the NES was released and changed gaming history. However, my dad is a tech guy and had read about this new system from Sega that could do 3D and was better than the NES. Ghostbusters, being a favorite movie of mine, was the first game I saved up money for and bought by myself. My friend had it for the NES and once I slapped that cartridge into my SMS, I knew my dad had been right all along. The graphics were better, the music was better, the game itself was better. Granted it was hard and the ending wasn't the best, but I loved using traps and the ion beam to capture ghosts. Now that I'm in my mid thirties and able to collect retro gaming systems, I have had the pleasure of buying another copy of this game and to say it ...
